Hi all :)

hope 2022 is started well :)

I would like to start this burning topic, which seems to me to be an abundance of scams online selling B&O products..much more those days :(

My worst experiences are on the websites Quoka.de, Ebaykleinanzeigen.de, Ebay -IT, Ebay ES,  and of course if you place an ad on a local advertising platform , they contact you from all sorts of exotic places and try to scam you. In some cases scammers create fake www page.

My advice is. Always pay via Paypal - just as a commodity and a smash hit or via Ebay where you are protected. Paypal not more than 500 €.

Do not pay through bank accounts or Paypal frined and family. In this case, offer the provider to pay Paypal costs + 3% and you are safe. Or pay only if you are protected. If sellers do not want this, there is already a high probability of fraud. There is also a lot of account hijacking on ad platforms. Let’s say you’ve been a user for a hundred years and haven’t been active lately. This account is potentially of interest to fraudsters because they misuse the account and commit sales fraud on your behalf. Usually the same day and delete the ad.

Luckily, I haven’t lost much so far just because of my caution. Usually the price is low as a lure for many customers and then they cheat the first one that fits the profile and that has no experience.

There are also many scams the other way around. The seller in good faith sends the good goods and then the buyer says he has not received or that the goods are destroyed or not working. Unfortunately, this is also happening.

Of course, caution is not superfluous and a cheap purchase often does not turn out to be so cheap.

Wish you all a nice trade :)

Once bitten, twice shy in my case.

Lost €200 to a scammer a while back. They had hijacked an account on EBay Kleinanzeigen.

The first thing I do now, is to ask when I can come round to view the goods on offer. The reaction is usually a good indication of how serious the seller is.

@ marexy:

Quoka ist wie Markt.de mittlerweile eine Müllgrube.

Bei Ebay Kleinanzeigen hatte ich bis jetzt noch nie Probleme.

Was hattest du denn gekauft?

:)

Beste Grüße

Christian
