Stereo pairing over airplay?

From apples webpage I see that the HomePod mini can be stereo paired over airplay.

Has anyone with a apple home setup tried if this is possible with two Beoplay m3`s?

To my knowledge, M3s can only be stereo-paired via Google Home. Hence, used as stereo pair only as Chromecast target.
