Friends, am I misunderstanding?
The Timer on Mozart counts down to turning on B&O Radio. It’s essentially the same as Alarm except rather than set a specific time to turn on music such as 6.30am, you set a countdown such as 5 minutes and at the end of 5 minutes, music begins.
On my Beosound Core, the Timer counts down to turning music currently playing off. After 5 minutes, the music ceases to play.
Is there no way to do this on Mozart?
The closest thing appears to be not setting an Alarm or a Timer but a Standby, which turns the product off at a set time (kind of like the opposite of Alarm). But there is no “countdown until the music turns off” function. Why would this be changed across platforms? Ugh.
Currently: BeoLab 17, BeoLab 18, BeoSound Core, Beosound Level, Beosound A1 2nd Gen, BeoPlay S8 Connection Hub, Halo, Essence Remote
Previously: BeoSound 1 non-GVA
The "Sleep" function is one of these features which is weirdly inconsistent across B&O products, it works slightly different on all the ones I have.
On the Mozart platform, currently, the only option is indeed to turn off at a specified time.
If you have a GVA version, you can say "Stop playing in one hour" and even program that to a my button. This will however only work if you started playing with voice (Chromecast) and not with all other sources, so it is not very useful in practice.
Thank you for confirming that I'm not crazy and in fact, that B&O is strangely inconsistent. Maybe I'll submit some feedback asking them to standardize this function to the prior universe of products including Core. Thanks again!
