Hello Richo,
I run a MasterLink setup with (amongst other) a BeoSystem 3 and an ML/NL converter (set as audiomaster) to a Core. I assigned the Core audio sources to audio infrared commands.
By doing so I only need to press RADIO for Tunein, or A.TAPE (A.MEM) to get DLNA for example. No need for AV or LINK (or both :-)).
What option setting does your BV11 have? My BeoSystem is in option 2 (V-OPT 2) if I remember well.
Maybe this helps,
Johan
Hi Richo,
You are doing great with the English !
You are right about my setup. And it is clear you know about BeoLink. I was googling a bit for your issue and found this link https://archivedforum2.beoworld.org/forums/t/16429.aspx, It is about using ‘source center’ as a setting for the BLC, and actually about using a BV11 and a BV10. I am not sure if it will help you, but it could be worthwile having a check in your quest for a simpler operation of the system.
Richo, I just checked the BLC manual and it says: "The Source Center role can only be used if no BeoMaster 5 is installed on Master Link as Audio Master or Source Center (AudioMaster = No)." so no option I guess. Sorry.
The only thing I can imagine is that the BLC role of AV Master could be interesting for you when you really only want to introduce NL sources into your ML network (and not vice versa).
Hi Johan.
thank you for your research. I took a look at the link, and i was inspired. I Think maybe i Will try to set my system up like you suggest, as AV Master. I Think about adding a Beosound 9000 mk3 to my system, so it would be Nice to be able to mapp specifik sources til specifik produkts. CD=Beosound 9000, N.MUSIC=Beosound 5 etc. NL/ML converter as AV master Will be perfect for that i Think.
In the weekend i Will try to chance my settings, so that NL/ML converter and Beosound Core not any more is integrated in my BV11. I suspekt mayby that is the reason I have to press LINK-AV and not just LINK before source botton. I Think that could be the reason, because BV10 have to call all NL sources from another BV (Video product) and not a audio produkt like if thay where not integrated in BV11. Im looking forward to found out
OK, good luck! For your info I have a BeoMaster 6500 + BeoGram CD 7000 without speakers (option 0) feeding only CD into my NL through a 2nd BLC (A.SLAVE). This was to avoid that N.RADIO/PHONO commands would interfere. Maybe something to think about for you as well when adding the BS9000. The beauty with the two BLCs is that I can now just use the direct RADIO button for the core's N.RADIO source everywhere, as well as CD for CD. I use A.MEM/A.TAPE for DLNA music from the core, and even found out that the 'next track' works when airplaying from my mac to my core.
It can be a bit complicated, but with a bit of time and effort (and money) it is possible to join all these new and old and make it work together. I hope you also can get your devices working as you want. Do you have the BLC handbook?
Hi Agian Johan
I Can see your point in having 2 BLC’s. Sounds like a fantastic setup you have. Nice to now for inspiration for my own setup.
As an Update i Can tell that i have purchased a 2nd BV10, and today i have installed it in my Office.
The funny thing is that BV10 is setup to option 6 like my other BV10, but if i press ONLY v.mem og dvd buttun etc. The new BV10 reacts emedeatly and starts Platini sources from NL Products. I dont have to press either LINK or LINK-AV first. Very strange. Only difference right now is that the ML kable is put in RJ45 masterlink at the BLC so it is not connected to ML delay boks right now. I diddent have the enegy to put the new ML kable in the junction boks, så i just used the free RJ45 masterlink output. I dont think that that could be the reason, so i Will try to look after any differens in the setupmenu’s, compareing the 2 BV10.
Hi Richo, cool, maybe this is a clue that helps to find the cause. And only pressing a 'hard' button (like V.MEM) on the remote is the ultimate ease of use right :-). In my network I only have a few sources, and they are all switched on, everywhere in the house, with one press on a Beo4 button. Good luck. Johan
Hi Johan
Im so happy. I have now found out what the difference was. I Will explane, if Anyone in the future have the same problem.
In the servicemenu at the BV10 (menu+0+0+Go) there is a menu called “PRODUCT TYPE” If you press GO, an option called PUC TYPE Will come up, and it is posible to “disable” or “enable”… It must be DISABLED if you dont want to press LINK AV before source button. You Can now press just V.MEM, DVD etc. and your source Will be activated. Of cource, only if the source is not used by BV10, for ex for blueray player, Apple tv etc.
Thank you for all your help
Richo
^ That's useful to know for anyone else in the same situation.
In the BV10 service manual it states:
PUC TYPE ENABLED - DISABLED
When ENABLED there is no analog tuner, no video distribution and no DVB.
Used in BV10-32 US, type 9577, BV10-40 MKII US, type 9573, BV10-46 MKII US,
type 9567 and BV8-40 MKII US, type 9563.
So I am not sure how that relates to the problem, but am glad that you have found a solution!
