I am sure that someone will be able to answer this.

What triggers the lift/return action at the end of a record? Is there a way to adjust this?

I am having trouble getting this to happen in the run-off groove after a record has played.

Annoyingly, if I press the lift switch then lower the stylus into the run-off groove without playing from the disc it will function properly, returning to the start point.

It may be a simple fix but so far I haven't been able to figure it.

Any suggestions will be gratefully received.

Thanks,

Bob

If yours is the radial arm one, there is a cam/gear mechanism under the platter that controls the return action. It probably needs cleaning and lubrication. Take a look at its service manual at beomanuals.com.
