Hi all,

Please find an update to the BM 7 Adapter project below answering a question from Flemming Birkemose in Denmark.

Please follow the product at www.beomesteren.dk

Best regards Rudi

Flemming Birkemose Says:

Hi Rudi,
there are now several references on Beoworld/Forum to your BM 7 Adapter.
I remember you even mentioned that card there a while ago.
First it said it was coming soon - now I see it's listed as sold out on your website.

When can you expect the product to be ready?
It will probably interest a lot of people - not least on the Forum.

Greetings
Flemming

    Hello Flemming

    Thank you for your mail

I'm sorry the product isn't ready yet - personally I'd love it to be ready now - both because it's announced, as you point out - but also because many are waiting.

We're in the final stages of testing - the delay is due to having to redesign the product twice because we can't get components - something we also hear car manufacturers struggle with.

Now on the right track and testing the last things. I expect the first batch of products (50-100 pcs) to come from China production by the end of February - if the component situation doesn't change - we kind of fear that.

Sometime in March or April I expect a production run of 2-300 pieces and then it goes. Unfortunately it is very delayed compared to promised, but also hoped.

We are struggling to get it clear.

We have a VESA plate for the Beovision 7-40 stand ready - with 6 mm screws for the TV (used by LG among others). In 3-4 weeks we will have a VESA plate for the Beovision 7-40 stand with 8 mm screws (used by Samsung, among others). Additional VESA plates are coming for the Beovision 7-32 stand with 6 mm screws and 8 mm screws respectively. This will allow those who wish to do so to begin mounting on the Beovision 7 stand.

    Thank you for understanding.

    Greetings Rudi
    Beomesteren.

Does this have an optical (arc) out to feed speakers through a bs4?

It is not clear to me. It could solve a lot of problems on the 4K part.

Hi Chucky

We have designed the system to have digital input from the TV and output is powe link to the Beolab speaker - so no optical output.

When using with lg and your connected box, will you be able to change the sound formats like you can with a beosystem 4 or beosystem 3

Hi,

we have developed the adapter box, so you get the sound from the TV in digital format and deliver that to the speaker via power link. The box can manages to move the stand and is the interface to an B&O remote as well as the TV.

I think this gives the majority of people a solution to continue with a new TV screen but still having the rest as is.

We will release this first and then have a look at a more complex box with more speakers and more functionality.

The first release will not be able to change sound formats.

We need to understand the market demands for a more complex box, as the development cost must be covered in one way or another. How big is the market for such a box ?

Hi rudi

There are many old customers, who have the bvis 7 and have added more speakers to the system. Another version which would replace bsys 3 or 4, with a newer 4k able to control a cinema screen and change the formats is a must, there are more than enough customers out there that would that purchase a more expensive if it offered that functionality

Not answering for Rudi here….……

…….but such a ‘box’ is in a totally other league.

That is very much to ask IMO.
