Hello Beoworld, I just registered and looking for a recommendation. I've got a pair of BeoLab 28 for my home library along with Thorens 402 DD. All works fine, but I am wondering whether Thorens 402 is a good match? Any experience / advice? Thanks in advance!
Thorens 402 DD is a very nice turntable. I have two recommendations:1. Upgrade your cartridge.
2. Invest in a decent external phono preamp.
Your new Beolabs deserve this kind of treatment
Beomaster 1700, Beocord 8000, Beolab 4000 MK1, Beolab 3000 (passive flat panel), BeoPlay E8 3rd gen, Beoplay H9 3rd gen, Beoplay P2
Warum nicht einen alten Beogram 7000?
Man mischt doch nicht B&O mit Fremdherstellern ;)
I have a Beogram 4002 to my Beolab 28.

Thanks Andreas. Any specific ideas about the cartridge and preamp?
See it this way too. Would new Beogram be available would grab it… No so fond of the used ones…
Thanks mr_anders_son. Would I have a great exemplar of, would consider too. But what I‘ve seen did not convince me so far - would need more time to... And meanwhile I would need another make …
As classic as B&O and with extreme longevity: Technics SL-1200 / 1210 (silver or black) turntable. MK2 version built since 1979.
Hi OA, and sorry for the late reply.
There is a very very affordable phono preamp that has received very positive reviews:
https://www.schiit.com/products/mani.
A colleague of me has purchased it and he is very impressed.
The last 5 years I've been using the Pro-ject Tube S, phono preamp and I am very pleased.
I will get back with some cartridge ideas
Thanks TWG, SL-1200 is interesting option, optically a bit martial for my taste. Still taking into consideration and plan to get one exemplar home for a trial period (my vendor is very fair to me).
Many thanks Andreas!
