Can I use my US versions of Beosound Essence MK2 and NL/ML Converters in EU?

Setting up my system here in my new home in Germany and I was told by the dealer I may need to get new Beosound Cores because my US Beosound Essence MK2's may not work properly here.

I also have a few NL/ML converters and I just want to verify before making these new investments.

Thanks

I think there are two possible concerns:

1) The frequencies used by the 5 GHz WiFi (they vary by country). This should be overcome in the config pages of the device where you can tell it which country it is in. It should then use the correct frequencies.

2) Mains voltage. The product label should tell you exactly what mains voltage it can use. Mine can use the full range from 100 V to 240 V (can’t remember the exact numbers). Look at the silver label on yours.

Thanks for the reply.

Mine is

  • Type - 2871
  • Item No - 1293027
  • 100-240v
  • 50/60Hz.

So seems like the only thing that may be an issue then is 5GHz Wifi frequency then.

Exactly. And setting the country in the config pages should address that.
