Recently acquired BG6000. Bad humming when playing. Beogram DIN cable looks original. Checked it is sound inside the connector. Connected to amp via a female DIN to RCA adapter. Any thoughts or suggestions most welcome. Amp is located in another room so connecting ground cable from TT to amp is not possible. BG4000 playing in same setup does not hum.
We need a bit more information to assist. The DIN adapter for turntables includes a ground wire when the cable is plugged into phono inputs in order to prevent hum because the signal is such a low level. Some Beograms have built in phono preamps so that they plug into line inputs. Which type of input and DIN adapter are you using?
Thanks. This BG is a line level output - it has its own RIAA amp. Adapter is Sounds Heavenly female din to male RCA.
Mine is earlier AC motor version of BG6000
If they are in different rooms, they may be on different AC circuits. Temporarily try plugging the amp and 6000 into the same AC outlet to check whether the hum goes away. If it does you know your problem; however if it doesn’t then I would look at the internals That would require a tech.
