Quick question. Thought I would find it easily on this forum, nut no.

Can I access the music files on a BeoMaster 5 via an Apple TV, which is on the same network?

Hi Griebel,

congrats to your 100th post Smile

No, you can not...

That is...if you jailbreak the ATV, it would be possible to access the BM5-server via the ATV.

Or... if you use an iDevice with a DLNA-app (e.g. PlugPlayer), you can access the server and airplay the files to the ATV.

Thanks Millemissen for your quick response. Didn't realize it was my 100 post.

I sure don't want to jailbreak my ATV unless there is just a key code to enter, but I don't think so.

The alternative seems more reasonable, although less convenient. The problem I have is that for some unknown and unexpected reasons the DNLA apps on my iPhone (Plugplayer, Twonky etc...) cannot detect the BM5 anymore.

Both are on the same network, the BM5 is configured as a server and audio master. Worked great before, but not anymore.

Sought help on the forum, but to no avail. Will have to jailbreak the ATV afterall...

Jailbreaking is one option - the other one is easier/better.

Please send a link to the thread where you "sought help".

Never heard that this shouldn't be possible - don't give up.

Here is the link to the mentioned thread: http://archivedforum2.beoworld.org/forums/t/4354.aspx

I absolutely have no clue on what did happen between the BM5 and the iDevices (tried several). They don't want to talk to each other anymore!

Sorry for asking:

But...

...have you changed any router-settings/got a new router/installed an AirportExtreme/AirportExpress as hotspot etc?

Did it work after you have setup  the ATV?

No problem in asking. We're here for that :-)

The ATV was installed much after I experienced the problem. So it's not the ATV.

The problem occurred when the BM5 came back from repair, although it works ortherwise perfectly (eg with BEO6 and 2-way function).

You did mention the router. Was actually wondering about that and the authorized ports, but I'm not much knowledged in setting up these parameters. What's weird is that the BEO6 remote reliably connects to the BM5. Why not the iDevices?!
