Just wondering which is the best option for transporting an BeoCenter 6-26 - lying flat ( horizontal ) or upright ( vertical )?

Logic seems to say "upright", even though its not a plasma.

To me it just seems logical that laying a panel tv flat could cause the screen to flex under its own weight and deform if a bump were harsh enough. And this tv will be transported by a regular courier company ( but with LOADS of extra padding and insurance ).

Thoughts welcome......

Well, B&O transported them upright. It's a lot easier if you have the original packaging. If not, I suggest you try to pack it so it's impossible for the courier to place it any other way.

I would always transport any unit like this upright and in the B&O packing if you have it.

The first thing that I would do is order the box and packaging from a B&O dealer. It will not be very expensive.

Check the insurance cover, don't assume!
