Hello,
I've just bought a Beogram 1202 and need to arrange for it to be collected. Does anyone know how to correctly transport it so I can tell the current owner how to pack it up?
I'm guessing the first thing is to remove the platter and wrap separately? Are there transport screws with this model?
If anyone has any ideas then i'd be very grateful as this is to replace my current Beogram 1102 that got damaged in transit due to poor packing!
Thanks everyone, this forum has some great advice for newbies like myself!
P.S. Once i've got it set up i'l be sure to post some pics... providing it's not in bits!
under the platter there are a few transport screws which you would need to secure first of all.
Also, it is important to secure the arm somehow, I used a small bit of masking tape which held it in place fine when the lid is on, but the transport screws are essential. Like you suggested, wrapping the platter separately may also be advised!
You may also want to remove the cartridge/stylus for transport. I would also just advice him to generally take care with it, and limit problems. For instance line the box with polystyrene or equivalent.
Hope this helps a bit!
Does the platter just lift off like on a BG 1102 or do you need to undo any screws first? Also, i'm guessing the transport screws just need to be tightened clockwise?
Thanks for the help, it is much appreciated!
platter lifts right off, and yes tighten the screws, believe there are 3 of them!
cheers mate!
