Hi
I am new in the Beo world, I recent bought a fine pair of beolab 4000 mk2 which I have connected to my Sonos Connect.
I have made a cable for each speaker like this. With a high quality signal cable and good quality connectors.
The speaker is set on the line settings.
Unfortunately I have some strange noise. it often start with some white noise to a higer tone and to some scatch noise. it often change. it is of course worst at low volumen. and et almost disappears when playend loud for some time.
Someone who has an idea of what I can try to do to solve my problem?
Can I made some change to the cable? can I ground the speaker?
Best Regards
Soren
Assume you made two RCA-mono-cables -≥ DIN. One for each speaker/channel . Each cable got two wires (signal and ground) and braided shield.
Connect signal to pin 3 (left channel) or 5 (right channel) and ground to pin 2 and 7.
Braided shield is not connected to the DIN plug.
Yes I made 2 RCA momo cables to DIN
My cable only got signal and braided shield. signal is connected to pin 3 (or 5) and shield is connected to pin 2 and 7.
So my shield is used as ground to pin 2 and 7.
In the other end of the cable I have a RCA plug with signal and shield connected to my sonos.
Thank you
The MK II got IcePower amps.
Read in the forum .... The IcePower amps in the BL4000, BL6002 and BL4 tend to fail .... And in contrary to the earlier MKI with AB amps they cannot be repaired. New amp boards must be installed.
The symptoms you describe are similar to those described in other posts.
Any chance you can connect the speakers to a Beomaster/Beosound with regular PowerLink cables to rule out a source or cable issue ?
Hi Ravsted
I was sure the noise was coming from both speakers, but I was wrong.
You are absolutely right, the fault is in one of the icepower amplifier.
Does anyone know what such board costs? or know someone who can repair them?
Here is info from the amp board. FT4730 , 52330371 , 4199-20
