Just been trying to record some obscure records from LP (via a Beosystem 5500) to my Mac Mini. The Mac has an audio input jack and I was trying to run the signal out of the Tape2 phono jacks on the back of the Beogram. Unfortunately the sound level is too high. When I tried a 2-1 jack thing to use the microphone port, it gives a hum. Do I need to maybe find an 8 foot long stereo to stereo cable or is there a seperate 'internal' volume that I can change via the MCP?
On a side note, I spotted 2 pairs of line out plugs in the beogram next to what I was using. They were jammed though with two n/u shaped pieces of metal. Without trying too hard [ ! ] I couldn't pull them out and wasn't sure why they were there. Are they standard like when a car has a plastic cover over an unused button space on the dashboard that's only available in a later model or would they have been added by a technician years ago if there's something wrong with them? Ie if there's a short on the board and plugging something in could blow a fuse again.
I had recorded via my BM 5000 to a Wintel, so I can't think what the issue would be with a MacMini - I am pretty sure I would have used the TP1 but again I can't see why that would make a difference with your use of TP2

On the BM5000 these are to allow you divert the signal from the pre-amp stage to an equaliser and then back into the BM5000 for the power amp stage
