Hello all,

I'm new to Beoworld having taken possession of a nice looking 7700 which I intend to fix up and use.  I suspect that the plastic catch molded into the underside of the clear plastic (acrylic?) lid has a small piece missing/broken off but I haven't been able to find any images to verify.  The lid is sticking when I press the "open" button.  Would anyone here who happens to own a 7700 mind awfully taking a photo of the catch so I can compare it with mine.  I'm currently at work but will post a pic of what mine looks like when I get home later if I can.

Other than that, speakers (S45's) need re-foaming, suspension on MMC4 is broken and tape is untested as yet!  Much fun to be had.

I've then got to convince my wife to let me put it all in our not so huge living room...  that could be the biggest challenge.

Thanks for any help,

Dave W.

Hello Dave, can you post a picture of the part that you like to compare ? I own a beocenter 7000, and could send you a picture if this will help you.

 regards, Mirko

Beocenter 7000 does not have the self-opening (spring-tensioned) dustcover found on Beocenter 7700.

Sorry Dave , Martin is right , but hope someone else could help you. On 7000 it is not automaticaly, but just lift up manualy.

No prob.

I'm beginning to think it isn't broken after all.  The perspex lid has separated slightly from the alu lid (adhesive has perished) so when the sprung lid attempts to lift, rather than pulling the whole lid up, the perspex bit flops slightly and then jams.  So I think the solution will be to get some of that 3M double sided spongy tape (can't remember the technical name) and re-fix the perspex securely.

Thanks,

Dave
