As the Apple TV 2012 is brand new and I finally want to buy one, I wonder if I need any other parts (except the standard Apple HDMI cable) to connect the Apple TV to my BeoVision 7-32 MK IV.

Your advice is very much appreciated
I do not think so, because it is roughly the same as the 2011 model. You only need the PUC to control the ATV with your Beo.

If it is really a BeoVision 7-32 MK IV, matters will become quite complicated!
The BeoVision 7-32 MK IV has a DVI-I input and no optical sound input.
For the picture you'll need a HDMI <> DVI-D cable For the sound you'll needan optical to electrical digital converter/translator an optical Toslink cable from ATV to digital translator box a RCA/Cinch digital cable from digital translator box to connect to B&O digital in
It is very likely you'll also need to have the AC3 chip exchanged to the recent version ...
And you'll need an IR-transmitter cable if you want to control the unit via Beo 4/5/6 remote

Sorry this sound stupid, but I thought my TV is also suited for HDMI cables. BTW I have the BeoLab 7-1 speakers.
I have a MK3 7-32 Which has DVI but the MK4 & 5 Should have HDMI as it all changed after the MK3?

Sorry folks - the unpleasant truth is:
7-40 Mk3 - introduced fall 2007 - was the first version of the BVi 7 series with 4 HDMI (based on the BeoSystem 3 engine)
7-32 MK4 - introduced fall 2008 - was still equipped with just ONE DVI-I but had HDCP support "on board"
and finally, the 7-32 got in the latest Mk 5 version - introduced spring 2009 - 2 HDMI inputs ...
When considering using an HDMI switcher, you should be aware that many people encountered problems with the HDCP handshake when using the new 1080p Apple TV with an HDMI switcher. I use the B&O-recommended Gefen switcher and have had no problems at all. I think it's especially important with the new Apple TV to use a high quality HDMI cable or you may have handshake issues.
