Prices for vintage B&O are going up everywhere, a BM 901 for USD 20.00 is a dream come through today, where it was reality 2-3 years ago.

Collecting Vintage B&O is not a hobby, its a lifestyle.

A mint 'serviced' 8000 went for £381 on ebay tonight. I honestly think that the price would have gone higher had it been more centrally located within the UK, and he more actively offered postage with reassurance of excellent packaging.

These things are pretty rare in working order, nay VERY rare, and so IMO very desirable - The far commoner master 6000 I have seen command £300 (usually £200 in very good order with remote) the only thing that lets the 8000 down IMO is there sheer size, and peoples fear of them developing a fault!

It makes difference on which Ebay site you gonna place your ads. I mean, French Ebay prices are much higher then UK , Germany or US

Agreed and their post charges(colissimo) are very expensive by comparison to Germany.

True.

The real difficulty is that many sellers will not sell outside UK, or Germany for that matter.

So there are plenty of bargains which don't even show up on the French eBay site, which is a shame because French sellers only rely on our local market to decide on their price tags, and bidders (most of them don't understand English) honestly think that the prices are fair.

And those Colissimo fares are just rip-off, and service appalling, with parcels often simply falling in containers, regardless of size, weigh, or whatever you write on the boxes...  I always double pack: a box within a box, with plenty of bubble and paper wrap in between. Typically a Beogram 4002 box will measure 80cm by 50cm by 40cm. I have never had a broken or damaged item.

Just had a proper look at that link Jacques actually quite shocked! Those displays are showing an odd symptom too, neither dead nor fully working, and some half lit??? Weird!

I bought on US bay in February a Beocord and a BG CD50 for 50 US shipping 30 US, Month later I had to pay US 200 for a BM 5000 (pizza box) and 89 US for the remote.
