What HiFi reviewed the BV11-40 this month and gave it a 5-star review: http://www.whathifi.com/review/beovision-11

Shame they didn't notice the dust that's starting to gather underneath the glass on my BV11. I noticed this morning, when cleaning the dust from the glass that a lot of it is *under* the glass. Sigh.

It's good news isn't it. At least your dust doesn't have eight legs and walk around inside said screen!

True! I only noticed for the first time this morning - we had a sunny day for once. Noticed dust under the glass panel and even a wipe mark on the LCD! Never happened with the BV7 :)

When is your BV7-55 coming? Are you going to wait until you get to Dubai?

The houses although typically massive, are an odd shape more conducive to wall mounting so thats on hold. I had some good offers from a dealer or two about trading in my 10-46 for an 11-46 which was an option, but for the time being i've ordered some fairly new 6000's in "pearly black" to compliment the TV.

These will then go on the wall behind us after our move, to compliment the 9/5's or whatever we get in the future. The Dubai Mall even for those of us who loathe shopping is a wonder of the world on an almost Jurassic scale, The kids playground had two flight simulators better than we get at work. The B&O shop was small, poorly stocked by folk who would have been better off on a car forecourt to be honest. What an opportunity missed in such a place.

I would be lying if i didn't say the 4K Sony display hadn't affected my choice of where to spend my moneyErm..

I can imagine. It certainly is a dilemma. I still wonder whether the 11-46 was enough of an upgrade to justify the cost. Lovely TV, but no-one has noticed the difference (between MKI 10-46 and 11-46). Hell, a couple of people have mentioned the lack of orange fret and how they liked the orange fret of the previous TV. The picture is better, sure, but I had an old 10-46. Sound is improved, but not hugely over the 10-46/BL1 combo. In hindsight, maybe I should have taken advantage of that superb 12-65 deal my dealer offered me!

Maybe, I watched a film last night and got sick of changing the volume from say 62-68 just to get clear vocals. That is something where the 11 is clearly superior, a modern day Avant.

True, but a BV7-55/BL7.4 combo even more so again. The audio quality of my BV7/7.4/BL9 combo couldn't be beaten, particularly for voice. Sadly I ended up getting rid of the BL9s to invest back in my business (2009) and had to swap the BL7.4 for a BL7.2. Still superb, but nothing like the 7.4/BL9 combination.

It was the same with the BV10 (although didn't affect my BV10). I guess it's the cooling fans blowing dust around the internals, which find a way inside the glass. Mentioned it to my dealer by email, he didn't reply :)

The BV10/BV11 isn't vacuum sealed. It's just an outer casing which is fastened on to the LCD panel. You can easily lift off the BV10 glass panel, for example.

Unfortunately Moxxey you are not alone to have the dust problem. My dealers return to Beo so many BeoVision 11, unbelievable. I think the process of manufacturing is seriously bad. Why Beo have recurrent dust in BeoVision 11? Shame because it is a beautiful set.

Ok , that's put me off buying a bv11 then.. I had a similar problem on an imac..

Seems the BV7 55 is really the only bno tv worth buying at the mo'

Just add an appletv and a mac mini - boomshanka

I have decide to buy a BeoVision 12 with a nice pair of BeoLab 12. Ok it is not the same price but it is actually the best BeoVision set in the Bang & Olufsen range.

If that is indeed the case then that's a right bu**er - I too have that kind of issue with my iMac.

It's really an issue for me because I was planning on a BV11 using the easel stand which would, I assume, put any fans and exposed edging that bit closer to the floor.

I can just about handle it with my iMac as I've put a background photo on screensaver that disguises it, but on a £6k TV that would justify the evil looks from the missus!
