Dear forum, - if too much out of content, - moderators feel free to delete as I don't have a problem as such!!...............Just have to pay Bang & Olufsen a proper tribute after having enjoyed their Beocenter 7000 for 33 years now.....................Now this unit was purchased in December 1979 and me being allmost 19 years old................Having looked at many music systems from various dealers back in Denmark I just could not resist this compact Beocenter 7000 even being sleek and slim aswell.........................Unfortunally not many agreed with me opting for this unit, - claiming that if one section became faulty the entire unit had to be sent in............................Yeah well they did had a point there but I knew that I was not all that in for cables and units in a long row so I went ahead and took the chance as they afterwards put it...........................Only, - after 33 years of enjoyment the eletrical components still havent let me down so I'm still awaiting the cons of having chosen a all-in-one unit..................................This particular unit just won't give up no matter how abused.....................At parties the unit is soon given full throttle volume level 8-10 but it dosn't give a da*n about that allthough the guests might use it as a indoor grill for late night sausages judged by the heat the vent grill generates.............................................A good cd player you've got there one guest remarked stunned as I told him that it was infact an old built in taperecorder doing it's job.......................Untill this very day it stays completely factory soldered only and drive belts lasted untill 2 years ago...................Still got the original belt for the recordplayer though...............Once again my most profound thanks to Bang & Olufsen for doing a thorough job here.....! The 7700 was probably the ultimate record playing music centre. Still very usable today - nice story - thank you.

The experience of the old school B&O is very special indeed. Once you get ower the service/renvovation point in many cases it is a lifetime of enjoyments.

Thanks for leaving nice comments.- I don't know how rare the white ones were but ironic it was that mine had to be ordered via Germany as B&O could not supply my request.....So this unit came with German manuals!....Not that it was any bother to me though.......Anyway the unit could not stand alone so 2 white S-75's was ordered along with 2 white S-45-2 as backup's.........
So futuristic , it STILL looks like it's a prototype !
So much for modern hi-fi - eh ?
Gorgeous systems. These were always so stylish and sleek, and perhaps the ultimate expression of B&O's philosophy of ease of use and minimum fuss, everything self contained. Like the later Beocenters with CD and tape, and even my BS9000 which was radio and CD, high style and simple to use. It occurred to me a while ago that, after getting rid of an old Panasonic all in one unit when I went to separates back in college, and a lot of different separate components later, going with my BS9000 was in a way coming full circle to an all in one unit, albeit one with much, much higher performance and elegance.
I guess things like the BS5 and such today are the equivalent, since everyone has gone to network based music the need for separate components has largely gone away.

B&Os design were always their strength, but somehow they got off track and went for what they thought would be popular, and not the "special" B&O way.
They also seams to have forgotten the easy to use design, where a blind man could use the basic functions after 5 min. instructions.
I just love the old classic look, specially the flats, like BM 1900, 2400. timeless designs that fits in nearly everywhere

I've sometimes thought of what I'd do if say I lost my current gear. I would probably opt for a network only approach ala BS5, but at times I wonder if I'd miss the old tech. I would probably go with a BS5, but would feel the need to have a den system of older B&O gear or something. In my den/workbench area now I have several classic older components including a SE tube amp, a classic Harman Kardon integrated amp, a McIntosh C32 preamp, etc.
I don't play LPs or CDs often but I still enjoy the option of doing so, but to be honest 99% of the time I use my music server PC. I guess I'm diverging to where I have my main, make it easy day to day set up and a hobbyist toy system.
Vintage & white!! B&O shines in white!! Love it!!
I have a few of these. The 7000 easily being my favorite.
