Hey guys, so I visited my local B&O dealer today. While I was discussing a probable upgrade, he told me that B&O is about to come up with some out of the world, extraordinary products this year and that he was not at liberty to say. Is that true? Does anyone here have any idea?

A wild stab in the dark surround sound system, and maybe some cool cans :-/

The sooner the better as I've lent most of my A8's out, and they don't seem to want to come back..

Beosound Stage, Beovision 8-40, Beolit 20, Beosound Explore.

My dealer often tells me the same thing and, only when pushed, starts telling me about the forthcoming 'amazing' products, leaving me distinctly underwhelmed. My dealer told the about the A3 about a year before the release and made it sound like it was a world-beating revolutionary product :)

I'm sure there's some good stuff on the way, but a dealer just making a random forward-thinking assumption, doesn't get me too excited.

If you read the language this was written in, could you give us a synopsis in English?

Do not let that fool you!

That is one of Peter Pans "wish-for-projects" - a new digital/wireless speaker.

Don't think that that will ever come/it won't be in the future line up... Paradise

And how does that fit in to this thread, exactly? You have read the rules? Apologies if you weren't able to understand the complex sentences and long words.

Could you please explain what you mean by that comment Moxxey?  I'm sure it wasn't meant that way, but it does come across as pretty arrogant..

I'm sure there's an innocent explanation and it was meant completely differently to how it appears.  Smile

This shows how easy it is to misunderstand posts without a clear context.

FYI to everybody: if you click on the "replied on" link in the post caption, if will take you to the post the author was replying to. It's a good idea to check it before starting to throw stones.

I don't know if anyone here is familiar with Leo Laporte's TWiT network, but one of the shows they do, "Home Theater Geeks", interviewed a pair of gents from the "WiSA" Wireless Speaker and Audio group on this past Monday's episode. These guys are doing some pretty incredible things with full LOSSLESS wireless audio in a wide open section of the 5GHz frequency spectrum. They mentioned that B&O are one of their initial launch partners and that products should be forthcoming before the end of this year from many of their partners. No clue what B&O has in store for this technology, but I immediately thought of them before they were even mentioned as a partner, since this technology works best with amplified speakers...

http://twit.tv/show/home-theater-geeks/151

In any case, the wireless speaker thing is probably real. Whether this is truly exciting or not is more difficult to say.

That is HIGHLY interesting!

With Bang & Olufsen as a member of the WiSA Association we MIGHT expect something wireless coming soon.

In the future Bang & Olufsen needs to be one step ahead - not one step behind.

A new (and rather annoying) policy is to keep the lid on new products until they are ready for launch. The BeoLab 15-16 launch was a surprise to most dealers as they received the news at the same day as visitors to www.bang-olufsen.com

I do think that we will have less accurate gossip in the future - unless we have someone on this forum with very good contacts at StruerCool

With the launch of products like Beoplay and the lack of master link in B&O's latest offering BV11, is the company moving away from its "connect it all" technology to stand alone systems?

Chris thanks for the Philips link. Really innovative project. In the past Bang & Olufsen used Philips chassis. Maybe Beo will used again. It will be very nice to buy a real 100% European product. I am tired of all these Asian TVs ! :-(

Torsten Valeur, chief designer from David Lewis Group and B&O should launch a TV like this Philips. The Hommage of the best Beo's designer: David Lewis. I remember an old article from him. His dream was to made a thin TV like a painting frame. Today is possible. Bang & Olufsen do it !!

what a shame, it seems Philips have overtaken B&O in the TV stakes

Philips DesignLine TV 2013

http://www.philips.co.uk/c/designline-tv/286449/cat/#/designline/

today I just ordered my 55inch for only £2800

http://www.t3.com/news/philips-designline-46-and-55-inch-tvs-are-a-single-sheet-of-glass

shame on you B&O for not giving me something a little bit more special than the "value for money" Philips offering !

What does it sound like? I buy B&O for the sound just as much as the picture. This looks very nice but I don't quite see the purpose. The large translucent bit of glass at the base seems to have nothing behind it so is simply a piece of glass. The top is great but if it is that slim, what are the speakers like?

And this is very interesting:

"The DesignLine also features MultiRoom which lets you stream what's being shown on the TV to any compatible TV in the house."

Exactly this feature I expected from B&O's Netlink in BV 11!

So the answer to Subject "B&O's future line up" is probabably: There will be no future for B&O!

+1 Peter

I already own a Philips led tv and I use it only for watching video, its sound is really bad compared to my old beovision 5.

I would say, it is a real shame to offer such a bad sound for such a good design.

Nothing is perfect in this world, so I take the best of the 2 worlds.

Philips has always been one of the best AV company , that 's why b&o and Philips were partner in the past.

Multiroom with WIfi, well, we will see in 10 years how you will be able to receive your video and audio file through all these waves.

4 beolab 5,  beolab 9, beolab 10, beolab 5000, beolab 8000 mk2, beolab 6002, beolab 3500, beovision 7 55 mk2,  2 beovision 11 46 mk4, beotime, beosound ouverture, beosound essence, beoplay A8, beomaster 900 RG de luxe and the collection continues...

I think it has been years ago, since Philips tv's were 100% European manufactured.

And - as far as I have heard - Philips has sold their TV division to...The Asians!!!

But -correct me if I'm wrong...

If you ask in this forum which is the best bluray player to use with a Beovision, you always get the same answer: Oppo, developped and made in CHINA,

Probably we will see some other companies who will sell their TV division to China....
