Hi everyone. For reasons around a large WLAN network with old and new equipment connected I currently secure my system with MAC address control using a new Apple Time Capsule.  Last week on install I simply could not get the BV11 to connect to the Time Capsule Router using the MAC address control method and in the end I resorted to turning my old Belkin modem WLAN MAC address control back on.  Prior to this the Belkin was supplying the Time Capsule with the Internet.

This works fine and despite the BV11 being connected to a different wireless router the rest of the system sees the BV11 as being on the same network.  I would however rather run everything via the Time Capsule.  I know the MAC address is correct as the Belkin accepts it and there are no 'o' or '0' confusions in the MAC address.  Can anyone think why the BV11 won't connect to a Time Capsule through MAC address control but it can to an older Belkin Router.  I can't spot any differences in the set ups and everything runs quite stably otherwise.

The only reason i can think of is that the beovision 11 can not connect to the network when you use a WEP encryption key. This is not supported on the bv11

Does your SSID contain any odd characters such as apostrophes? I beleive that BeiVision11 cannot connect to networks with characters other than letters and numbers.

Smile Brilliant Opman.  My SSID Descriptor on the Time Capsule include "Wi-Fi", shortening it to WiFi and the BV11 connected straight to it.

I wont start a rant on why this might be the case on an $16K TV when an $80 Pioneer DVD can cope with a hyphen, but anyway....problem solved and old network shut down again.

Thanks!
