Terminal 3000 and 5000 remotes

does anyone know if the 3000 can be used on a Beosystem 5000 ?

 

only need it for volume control and muting -  so I am thinking it is the same era ( 85 to 87) , but thought I would check first in case for some reason it may not work.

It can't.
The Beosystem 5000 uses unique codes and will only work with Terminal 5000 and Master Control Panel 5000.

maybe the 3500 would be better, the button layout on the 3500 looks the same as the 5000

The 3500 uses Beolink 1000 codes which are different again. The 3300 uses these codes in a basic form as well. Neither work the 5000 I am afraid.

thanks Peter & Dillen, oh well my search continues for a Terminal 5000 to use instead of the MCP
