Yes, the reliable source is about four posts above this? :)

Sorry, I did not read that! (true). But I am happy that more people than me can confirm it, and I look forward to them :).

I've been told that in the next 1,5 year all speakers will be replaced or updated.

Should this be read as "next 1 to 5 years?"

No, a comma is used in Europe instead of a full stop, so it reads 1.5 years to an American or a Brit :)

Have not been able to confirm if the buds are water (sweat) proof, but working on it. The cans, with brown leather across the strap over the head and on the buds do look good - but the design doesn't strike you as B&O at first glance.

The new TV... I guess Lee will shut down my account, but: No, it will not replace the BV7. Sorry. It will slide in between the V1 and the BV11 wrt price.

Roger

Beoplay ?

No, it will not be a BeoPlay product - but a new main core product.

B and O press release today mentions a new Beoplay product on April 8, so maybe two new products coming soon?

Before we see this new TV, B&O will launch the BeoLab 14 (shortly) followed by the new ear buds and cans (in time for summer).

The press release for April 8th (http://www.bang-olufsen.com/~/media/Files/PDF/Newsroom/Corporate/Press%20release%20BO%20and%20Universal%20Music%20CooperationENG.pdf) is regarding a new co-op with Universal Music - no new products involved yet.

Hi Roger.

Do you know if there are coming any new audio product ? I am owning an BS5 E, but i am considering to change it in to something else or perhaps better. I heard that BS5/BM5 is the only product who will be updated with a new software, can you confirm this?

Thanks Wink

Don't want to be negative about the press release... but I get a "We've invented Hot Air" feeling about the press release...

Anyway... Looking forward to the BL14 release... Seen the pics... looks good!

The press release specifically says guests at the April 8 event will be the first to try out a "brand new" Beoplay product.

Have to agree with Karel regarding the Hot Air - if they were to focus on high end only with this co-op, then perhaps they could trigger an interest for high quality sound reproduction in a time when most people seem to be more into quantity (of songs/selection) than quality. But showing off their new headsets from the BeoPlay collection is hardly BeoLab 5 territory? But that said, the new ear cans do sound nice (same price range as the Bose QC15, but without the QC-part...).

I am not sure if B&O know what the road looks like ahead. As stated elsewhere on this forum: these are very difficult times for B&O, no matter what way they choose. One might wonder if the Playmaker is the only soundsystem the market is requesting now. Regarding the BS5/BM5: new features that requires accessing the web can't easily be adopted by the BS5E, so there will be different SW for these products - as they are different. I do note that B&O stresses that they will introduce BeoPlay products at the yellow lounge event with Universal Music as part of their new co-op for high-end music... and not the BS5. That says a lot, IMHO.

Shame about the QC bit as that was one the primary reasons I was waiting for them.

Bose it is then...sigh(maybe in 10 years when they realise this it what made the Bose's such a success)

Beosound Stage, Beovision 8-40, Beolit 20, Beosound Explore.

The BeoLab 14 sets, the BeoPlay H3 and H6 along with the new SW for the BS5/BM5 should be available in the near future. The H3 and H6 may be as late as summer.

@Chris - have a look the ear cans before you pick up your QC15´s

I'm not sure if I should repeat this, but it's Easter Sunday and they probably won't notice (they do read this forum), but my dealer said he won't be getting another display BS5 Encore, after selling the display unit the other week. That shocked me. He won't be getting a BS5 Encore in the store. If a dealer isn't going to promote it, what's going on?

This is a dealer who was very keen on promoting the virtues of the BS5/Encore only a few months ago.

I am/was seriously considering an Encore. Why? I like the idea of the improved DAC over the the Airport Express and it would be ideal to connect to my BL3s and use it to connect to my NAS-based audio. If I could pick up a discounted unit. I'd get one. Hence my question to my dealer. Now I don't know what to think.

In case anyone is wondering why my posts are quite negative recently, here's a caveat: I **want** to buy a BV10-32 with black frame and am very interested in a discounted (ex demo) Encore. I enquired about both last week, couldn't get either. BV10 in black is discontinued (but still promoted on B&O's website) and after the dealer said he won't get another Encore, I've been thrown somewhat, in my decision making :(

The new SW will give you access to your playlist(s) in Spotify etc and any feature that require access to the web will need the BM5 - so this update is of less relevance to the BS5E. I guess your dealer is seeing the same behavior as over here: customers would like to trade in their BS5/BM5/BS5E for a Playmaker (which has an excellent DAC, perhaps too excellent...) and use the change left for a new BV11 - so stocking the BS5-series may be seen as risky business by some dealers today. If someone wants the BS5E or BS5/BM5, it just five days of transportation from Denmark.

I am also looking for a BV10-32 with a black frame (and red cloth), possibly a 10-40 with black frame if the price is right... and would not mind an Encore at half-off as a link room controller (BS5/BM5 as master). Good thing that our hunting fields are far apart Big Smile

the hifi press really don't help B&O's cause either, this review on the BS5E could have evoked some interest but then they say you need BL3's to use it - and that kills it IMHO

http://www.avhub.com.au/index.php/News/Hi-Fi/bao-beosound-5-encore.html

so I am not surprised the BS5 is being dropped, I mean it was introduced back in Feb 2009

There is a second hand BS 5 Encore for sale close to my hometown for 1.500 Euro....

But lots of negative comments and no more sw support keep me from buying it....

But I like the look and feel of it.

Roger, if you stumble across two BV10-32's with black frame, let me know. I also want a red (and orange) fret :)

If I can't find a black framed BV10, I'll get the silver-framed demo unit on display at my dealer.

I'm the other way around. I'm indifferent to the look/feel and more keen to use it's DAC. It's better looking than the Playmaker though. The one at my local dealer looks grubby!

Hi Roger,

Just on the BS5 software update -are there any other improvements?

Does it mean I can access Spotify on the BS5.? Are there any plans for control via iPad or is that still wishful thinking?

Thanks

So,......B and O posted on its Facebook page back on March 19 a picture of a spotlight on a stage, and comment that something great is coming.

Is that "something" Spotify, the headphones, or something else?
