Hi everyone, I'm new here.

BeoWorld has provided me loads of information about b&o products, but now I do have a problem that I can't find a solution for.

My setup is a BS Ouverture with two BL4000 speakers and my LG TV connected to the Aux.
To control the Ouverture I'm using a Beo4 remote. The Beo4 model I have has the following buttons:
| TV | Light | Radio |
| SAT | AV | CD |
| V.TAPE | RECORD | A.TAPE |

The problem I have is that I'd like to put my A.AUX option in one of these 9 buttons, instead of going to List first.

Hopefully its programmable!

Thanks,
AP

Hi and welcome to Beoworld,

Sadly it's not possible to re-programme any of the buttons to become A.AUX so you are stuck with LIST if you want to keep using the Beo4.

You could get hold of an old B&O 'Audio Terminal' (pre-dates BL1000) that has a separate AUX button - this is what I use for one of my setups.  It also has a TAPE2 button that is useful for accessing N.MUSIC with one press.

Here's a link: http://www.beoworld.org/prod_details.asp?pid=689

(The AV Terminal also has an AUX button)

Thanks for the response!

Isn't it possible to connect the TV instead of to the Aux input, to some kind of AV input or something like that?

Thanks,
AP

Doesn't pressing TV on the Beo4 switch to the AUX input anyway even though it's not a B&O TV?  If not, try SAT or V.TAPE.  I think that it works like this on my son's  BC2300

No unfortunately TV, SAT and VTAPE don't work in order to switch to the Ouverture AUX input.

Would it be possible to attach a BeoLink Video with a ML in the Ouverture, and putting the LG TV into that AUX input? Which button would work on my remote in that setting?

Try programming the Ouverture to Option 2.

The Ouverture is already programmed in Option 2. When I put it into Option 0 or 1 the Ouverture doesn't even respond to the Beo4.

On the Beo4:
* When I press CD, RADIO or ATAPE it works.
* When I press List -> A.AUX it works.
* When I press TV, SAT or VTAPE the Ouverture switches to those, but no sound is produced.
* When I press AV or RECORD the Ouverture doesn't even respond at all.

So unfortunately it is not working.
Will the trick with the BeoLink Video with Aux in work?

Thanks again everyone that helps thinking!

I think that a BeoLink Video (1615) would 'probably' work but I still don't understand why you cannot select AUX with TV etc - perhaps it is worth unplugging everything and trying to program the Option again - just try both Option 1 and 2.  I think the system has to be at stand-by when you program the Option.

I have a BL Video 1615 and will try it as an AUX input onto ML later today, but this will be a little inconclusive as my main system is a BC9500.

I just tried the Beolink Video and it didn't work.  (Mind you, it was connecting to ML which was then converted back with a 1611 so that my BC9500 could accept the input.)

I then connected an AUX source straight to the BeoCenter aux socket, and was able to select it with TV, SAT and V.TAPE but only when the BC was in Option 2.  When in Option 1, I still had to use LIST A.AUX.

Hence as Mika has suggested it sounds like an Option setting problem - worth checking again?

There's more..

I just tried a BeoLink converter 1611 as an aux input onto the ML system and that works fine - pressing TV, SAT or V.TAPE will select the aux as long as the BC is in Audio Option 2.

No unfortunately it is still not working, I tried both option 1 and 2 on the Ouverture after disconnecting everything (had the Ouverture removed from electricity for a while as well).

Some more information about my devices, perhaps its useful:
Beo4: EE 3.2, SW 3.0
Ouverture: SW 1.0, Type 2636

Wow, thanks for trying with the Video and Converter!! Apparently using the T1611 works in combination with your system, but will that work with my setup as well in combination with this problem?

I think I have run out of ideas!

We need to find someone with an Overture who can compare configurations and SW versions ... anyone???

I think, the solution provided by Guy will work for the Ouverture.

Regarding your current situation:

Having set the Ouverture to Opt.1, it will react only to audio commands, so no reaction to TV.

Having set the Overture to Opt 2, it will try to react to audio and video commands. But as it can not detect a video source on the ML network it shows no reaction.

Just make  A-AUX the first entry on your  Beo4 (through the 'Move-function' - if your Beo4 supports that).

If you often use that function, it will stay in the display and all you have to do is push the 'Go'-button.

If you have used e.g. 'Radio' for listening to radio first, it is just one klick on 'List' away Stick out tongue

Well, but I'd like to have another Aux-in for my turntable as well Wink.

Just ordered a second hand T1611 with an ML cable for E33,- over the internet, I'll update if I know more.

If that means: You want to connect 2 different devices to the A-AUX of your Ouverture?

Then take a look here:

Millemissen,

I think that he is hoping that one AUX will be provided via the 1611 and ML link (probably by pressing TV) and another direct into the AUX socket on the Overture - presumably the turntable.  I have always thought that oneremote adaptor looked a bit pricey!

Yes that's correct, I'd like to have the turntable directly on my Ouverture.

If that won't work I just keep it in my AV-in on my LG tv, but not having a TV enabled gives a good feeling while listening to my records.

It works great with the T1611!

Setup now is like this:
- LG TV connected to the Audio Aux Link of the T1611.
- T1611 connected to the Ouverture by ML cable.
- Turntable connected to the Aux of the Ouverture.
- Ouverture is still in Option 2.

Improvements:
- On the Beo4, the buttons TV, SAT and V.TAPE will give sound from the LG TV (with AppleTV).
- On the Beo4, the options A.AUX and PHONO from the List will give sound from the Turntable.

Works amazing, thanks everyone!!!
