Hey guys!!! I had gone to visit my dealer yesterday to select the colour for my new BV11 (Black or Silver - which one is better, any pics) My dealer told me that B&O would be discontinuing its current product range and introducing fresh products. He hinted towards BV7 specifically... Anyone knows anything about that?? Coz its their most beautiful TV till date and it would be a shame for it to go.

My dealer claims there's no new TV until Autumn/Fall, where B&O will introduce this new TV which will sit between the V1 and BV11. No new BV7 planned as it's selling poorly through 2013. It's become difficult to shift.
IMHO, having owned 6 BV7s over the years, it's starting to look clunky, heavy and a bit old-fashioned.

BV 7 is def. going. summer, fall will come the replacement
To me the BV7-40 always looked great but felt the 7-55 looked absolutely enormous, particularly next to the 11. As for the BV11 bezel, the black looks great as it "disappears" when the TV is on.

How does a TV that sits beneath the BV11 become a BV7 replacement? :)
As I said, my dealer claims the BV7 has sold poorly through 2013, so a replacement is unlikely. A brand new TV, more likely. Even B&O aren't silly enough to produce an updated BV7 design when it's struggling to shift. Remember the BV7 sits well above the BV11 in terms of price. The new TV will be between the V1 and BV11.
I'll be making a visit to a corner shop in London tomorrow, so i'll see what the future might bring us.

B&O had to adjust their pricing policy on tv´s, and the BV11-55 show that they are heading in the right direction. Even if the BV7-55 mk2 is a better tv compared with the BV11-55 it will be hard to shift at twice the price. B&O do not have a tradition, partly out of respect of current owners, for lowering the price of a product - at the same time they had to adjust the pricing of the 7-series. So giving away a free speaker is a solution they have used before. It does not necessarily indicate that the BV7 has reached end of life, perhaps more an indication of a shift in pricing?
The 7-55 sells OK compared to the BV12, and it is one of the best tv´s out there right now and for bigger installations the "cinema mode" is still a must. Sure it is expensive, but I must admit that the experience it delivers is superb: last night we saw Argo on the 7-55, picked up the Beo6 and hit the Cinema button - the 120" screen came down from the ceiling as the projector warmed up, the 7-55 closed its curtains, aligned it self with the wall, the sound rotated 90 degrees as the cinema centre turned on and the curtains opened on the big screen. The lights dimmed down stepwise during the process.
All at the touch of a single button on a remote that "glows" in the dark. To me, only bluray (1080p) can provide the source material - and how can one possibly improve the experience provided by the illuminated disc tray of the BV7 in such a setup? Not to mention that it is not hidden at the back of cabinet, but sits just where it should - easily accessible for everyday use, and late at night when the lights are dimmed down.
Clearly there is a marked for such magical moments. But what should replace the BS3 (and the BV7)? Should B&O wait for the 4K market to mature? Should they give up this high-end segment?
For now, we do know that B&O will add a new tv to the range. It will not be a BeoPlay product, and wrt price it will sit between the V1 and BV11 and it will provide bigger screen sizes than the V1 series.

Which is exactly what my dealer told me. Dealer said this new TV isn't a BV7 replacement, for all the reasons you mention Roger - the BV7-55 MK2 offers expensive local backlighting, projector support, a blu-ray player and, of course, the superb BL7.6 speaker.
None of those can be included in any TV sitting below the BV11, for obvious reasons. All those components are expensive - the blu-ray player B&O price at around £1000, the speaker is better than a pair of £2500 BL3s, the local LED backlighting wasn't included on the BV11 due to cost issues and projector support isn't part of the BV11/V1 chassis.
Of course, not saying that a replacement BV7 won't be here long term (B&O's first 4K TV, perhaps), but there's nothing planned soon. If we do get a replacement BV7, it will be interesting to see how they handle audio as the depth of the BL7.6 won't lend well to increasingly shallow LCD TVs, BV11 included.
