Recently i bought a second hand BV7-32 MK2.

Now on itself i am happy with the tv, but i noticed a strange behaviour in the (picture menu) colour intensity setting, and i am wondering if this is related to a setting and/or if anyone has noticed the same thing..

In the ''normal'' (say: standard B&O) setting, i find the red colour very present and humans look far too red, so i turned down the intensity with, say, 3 steps.

Now when the tv is switched off and next day on again, again the colour isn't what it should be (too much again), than going into the picture menu and again reducing the intensity 1 step (from where it was after storing it last time) gives a big step back in intensity.

Moving it up again 1 step, brings it back to the setting i left (and stored) it the last time.

The slider in the menu stays where i stored it, it just seems to go up 1 step in intensity after switching off/ / on.

Recently we updated the STB list as well as the software of the TV but that didn't make any difference...

Ok, some extra info on this (i can't imagine i am the only one with this...)

The not / not correct storing of the Colour setting only seems to occur when i use the digital tv receiver (connected to a scart, programmed as DTV).

When the BV7 colour is set in TV mode and started again as TV it seems to remember it's setting, when directly switched on in DTV it doesn't !

So the workaround seems to be: switch on the tv with TV and than choose DTV.

So: anyone else having similar experiences ??

To test it:: connect a source to a scart (DTV), in either TV or DTV mode, turn down colour saturation completely (resulting in b/w picture), switch tv off and switch on again by directly pressing DTV.

IMHO, normally, the picture should be b/w now, but the BV7 seems to have a different idea about this....

I had a mk1 7-32, i have the same issue, the colours settle down once the set has been on a while and warms up!

Is this set updated with the HD-Ready module? Do you know if you have sw 7.91 (AP) or newer? There were a few bugs on SW <7.7 (AP) related to Picture in combination with external (PUC) devices.

I have noticed that the warming up of the panel makes a difference (funny that a 40 years old colour tv actually seems to warm up faster than a modern LCD, but ok...), but that is not the issue i am dealing with...

(Summarized:) When storing the picture settings with colour completely down, it still starts up with colour (when using DTV, not when using TV.

Roger, in the monitor service menu it reads: 06 IC3 AP SW 6.3. And. 06 IC2 IOP SW22 .0

is that what you're referring at ?

i just did the same test as before, but now digi tv connected to AV2 as V-Aux, same problem...

Your set may need an SW flash if you have the HD-Ready (retro-fit) kit based on the read-out from the service menu. Do you have access to the service tool or a friendly dealer nearby?

Guess what...with AV2 scart programmed for DTV the problem seems not there, previous setup and problem was with AV3...

i'll try to find out if and what's the difference between the scarts (if any), but for now this will do..

at least the specification of AV1..AV3 differs:

AV1 : CVBS in/out, RGB in, Y/C in (automatic Y/C detect, automatic 16:9 sense (pin-8), B&O AVL(2-way))

AV2 : CVBS in/out, RGB in, Y/C in (automatic Y/C detect, automatic 16:9 sense (pin-8), B&O AVL(1-way))

AV3 : CVBS in, RGB in, (automatic 16:9 sense (pin-8), B&O AVL(1-way))

So AV3 actually has less options to go wrong (in the sense of adding up signals for example), on the other hand it couldn't really be adding up signals (let's say getting RGB from the cable receiver and adding up the C from Y-C maybe gives the extra colour), because the colour saturation level makes a sudden drop when moved 1 position to the left and is back to what i want it to be when moved 1 position to the right again.

Anyway, if anyone ever feels like testing his BV7....:) (just to know if it's only mine doing this), and i'll try some more testing later (like with a scart lead with only cvbs).
