Headphones with one ear not working turn up quite commonly on eBay, and it seems likely to me that dry joints would be the most likely reason. I'd like a set, and I'm trying to up my electronics ability; are there big challenges in working on these items?

From experience, it is usually the lead that goes wrong, and this is relatively easy to fix. If the coil has gone, then you need parts. Not had a problem with Form 1s but I tend to use them. Form 2s and particularly A8s are a complete pain - but my daughter uses these so they have a hard life!!

I reckon I'll give it a crack then. Seems like repairing or replacing a cable should be something even I can do, and a nice set of Form 1 would look nice next to my Beocentre :)
