First off, hello to all of you knowledgeable folks!

Before today, I had never seen a B&O stereo. I had heard of them, and know of the quality and such, so upon finding a Beomaster 1900, and a set of C75's at a rummage sale today for $20 I scooped it up.

Got it home, hooked it up, plugged it in and nothing. No lights, no clicking... Just, nothing. Very sad guy over here. I was really excited to find a piece of audio history like this, and REALLY hoped that it was working. So it has no power, sadly. The fuse looks good, but I have no idea what else to try.

The unit came with the original manual, a sales catalog, wires and accessories including the original antenna, and the original receipt. The receipt really caught my eye, not very often do you find one of those with old electronics. Looks like it was purchased in San Francisco is 1979 at House of Music for $958.50. This has nothing to do with my issue, of course, but I thought it was nifty and wanted to share.

Thanks,

Jake

You will have to open the BM and check inside, fuses on PCB, rectifier 0D1, and if US model check the main fuse with Ohm meter, normally with these old BMs you will have to change all electrolytic caps, lamps, trimmers and rectifiers, if the fuses on the PCB are blown, you will have to find out why.

Thanks for the timely response! I'm no electronics whiz, so none of that will be done by me. lol I can check fuses and things like that, but soldering has been disastrous for me in the past.

Does it have any value in it's current condition?

Here a pic from a EU version, not sure if US version has the F1,F2, and the power selector switch.

A BM 1900 sold as for parts and not working on Ebay you may reach 50-100 USD, the speakers if working OK more so.

Yes I did. Doesn't do anything. On plugging it in, a standby light should come on, right?

Yes, but not much. If cosmetically it is absolutely mint, someone may want the BM1900. That is precisely the type of unit some restorers look for: nonworking but cosmetically mint.

You can get a refurb kit from Martin (user Dillen) if you want to give it a go. It's a fantastic receiver and worth it. I have one and love it.

I have Martin's kit but decided to have a pro refurb mine. Cost was $300, including rebuilding both tone controls.

Right.
A small red dot in the dark acryllic strip above the standby touch pad.
Check fuses.
Check standby power supply.

By the way, welcome to Beoworld and B&O. All the stuff quoted above is more than worth the $20 you have invested.
