Hey guys,
I'm playing with the BL5s tonight after nearly breaking my back bringing them in here. My main system was a no go because all my Power link cables are MkIII (apparently). However, since these have plain jane line ins I am using my iPod to play with them. However I had a RUDE AWAKENING when I turned them on and was damn near blasted out of the living room as the volume must have been MAXED.
A. I hope I didn't do any damage (it was a vocal song, not anything with any real bass), and most importantly, how do you set the turn on volume?! I haven't figured it out in the manual so far.
Thanks!
I think I figured it out. It appears to be the "line input level" setting.
EDIT: Spoke too soon. Every time I turn it on I can hear hiss as though they are turned clear to the top. My beomaster 7000 also always starts at a volume level of 32 but I think there's a way to change it. I'm open to ideas.
When all else fails, how about consulting the user manual?
For recent products such as this, it is available on B&O's own web site (Customer service -> Product support -> ...)

I know, I looked there already. There is only a mention of a line level input setting, but that does not alter the turn on volume.

Well my blind eyes obviously missed that entire section and skipped straight to page 11. Thanks!
