Has anyone here tried to set up a Topfield SRP-2100 satellite decoder/PVR using a Beovision with an STB-C? Sadly, there never seems to be any detail on the IR command sets, so it is well-nigh impossible to find out what will work and what won't.

Hi.
The Topfield SRP-2100 was on the IC for Central Europe, Version 4.34 (2011).
Ah! Thank you. I guess that means that it's not compatible with the other Topfields, then (I understand that many of them use the same codes). That's a shame, because I had hoped to use it on one channel, with a Humax PVR-9200T on the other. As the latter is UK-specific, I guess that means I can't achieve what I had hoped to do.
:(
I just checked the codes. Unfortunately, the SRP-2100 has a rather unique code set compare to a lot of other Topfield player that share the same codes. There is a box having the same codes as the SRP-2100, the CRC-2400, which again unfortunately isn't on any STB-IC at all.
Sorry!
That's unfortunate. Looking from the other end, I don't suppose there's a generic Humax on the chip which supports the SRP-2100, which might support the 9200T ?
What exactly is it you want to control?
When I was looking to set up the system, West Europe table 4.11 was the latest. The best terrestrial receiver listed was the Humax 9200T. The best Satellite receiver listed was the Topfield TF7710HDPVR. I therefore bought one of each of these, so they can be controlled via Masterlink from the kitchen.
The Topfield has proved to be the most unreliable piece of electronics that I have ever bought and needs replacing. I had decided never to buy another Topfield.
However, I need a satellite decoder and HD recorder to replace the TF7710, but still need to carry on using the 9200T. As the Topfield SRP-2100 is on a clearance prices at the moment, has all the features I want AND has had very good reviews, I would like to pair it with the 9200T. However, if the SRP-2100 is on the Central Europe chip and the 9200T is on the Western Europe chip, I probably can't put these on the same Avant!
Looking at requirements, rather than solutions: I want to keep my Humax 9200T and add a satellite tuner and HD PVR which has twin LNB inputs, each of which can manage DiSEqC selection. These need to connect to an Avant, and be controlled through Masterlink (ie an STB-C).
I use my Humax FOXSAT HDR in the non-freesat mode - accessed through a hidden menu. This may be worth exploring. http://www.purplesat.com/index.php?p=1_48_THE-FOXSAT-HIDDEN-MENU
That's interesting, because I phoned Humax a few months ago when I realised that I'd need a replacement box, and they told me that none of their current range have the non-Freesat mode. I'll call them again and check, in case they've removed it from the new firmware. If it's still there, then this could solve the problem.
I don't think that Humax themselves would advertise this mode. It's probably there as a hidden menu because the STB internals/software are used for other models sold in other non-freesat countries. I only started using the hidden mode recently because the freesat channels are slowly moving to a new satellite, same position but smaller footprint hence increasingly difficult to receive here in Denmark, even with my 1.2m dish! I also now use a CAM and Viewing card successfully with my FOXSAT to receive encrypted channels, although I am currently experiencing some difficulty with scheduled recording.
The Foxsat HDR was on the STB-IC Western Europe 4.35 (May 2011). On the latest one Western Europe 4.43 are quite a few Humax boxes that share the same IR code set as the Foxsat HDR. No guarantee that it works 100% the same, but you might give it a shot.
Western Europe 4.11 (which I use as it supports my current boxes) has entry 21: FOX SAT H. If this is an interface for the Foxsat HDR then it would suit me. However, it could just as easily mean Foxsat HD. Do you know which box it actually refers to? Does it matter - after all, if they use the same remote control then the command set will be the same.
I had exactly that question in the past - see here! http://archivedarchivedforum2.beoworld.org/forums/t/40416.aspx
It will control either FOXSAT HD or HDR, and I have since found out that the same setting will control my HUMAX FreeView HD FOX T2 box - which meant I had to sight the STBs and IR transmitters quite carefully!
It's interesting to see that the archived thread was the same suspects - Guy and Papa!
Duplicated codes won't be a problem for me - they'll be on different sides of the room. I do wish suppliers would publish IR compatibility guides, though. I'd like to know, for example, whether a Dreambox 8000 and a 7000 use the same command set. I've ended up just looking at remote controls to see if they look the same.
Anyway... thank you all for this discussion. I'm now happy that I have a way forward.

I can confirm that the Topfield SRP-2100 and the CRC-2400 both use 32 bit NEC protocol with device code 80 and all the common commands are the same as well.
Regards Keith....
I don't think the CRC-2400 appears on my STB-C list, though. I'd need it paired with a Humax 9200T, anyway.
