Hi,

I have bought a beoplay A8 & A pair of beolab 3 speakers, which I play through the wifi system (using playmaker for the belob 3's) through airplay.

Unfortunately the ifi keeps droppin out every 30 seconds or so.

Can anyone help ?

Would it help if I was to buy a faster/stronger signal modem ?

Thanks for the replies

Hi & welcome to B&O and Beoworld

Sadly wireless is a common complaint - but actually we think half the installations work out of the box; some need tweaking; and some need bits & pieces being upgraded.

A search will lead you to many stories of how people have gone about resolving their situation.

In my case it related to positioning the devices so the the "line of sight" did not pass through white goods in the kitchen.  but the microwave is still certain to destroy reception in one room of the house.

So here are some steps to go through:

  • what is your router / wireless modem ?
  • how old is it ?
    • recently someone reported that BT modem had a type A (bad news) and when replaced was a type B and it all worked perfectly !
  • what are the locations for the equipment and what lies between ?
  • how many other wireless networks are near you ?
  • are they all using the same signal bands ?
  • can you pick a band that is not congested by neighbours ?

so there's a start - you will get lots of advice when the rest of the world wakes up, but answering the above will help speed up the diagnosis and get you to a state of listening pleasure as fast as possible
