Yes, works fine. Not sure if people are aware, but the part that holds the iPad on to the BS8 is adjustable, so you can move it closer/further away, depending on which iPad you own.

I've used the iPad 1, 2 and now 3 in the BS8 so far. iPad 1 was the most stable of them all, but the iPad 2 and 3 sit in there fairly safely and securely after some adjustment.

Thank you for your response.  I just ordered iPad 3.

I, too, have 1 and 2 and have complained about the stability of 2 (adjustment notwithstanding)

The next issue is Apples new iPhone 5 when it comes. it is supposedly to have a different dock connector. so your new iPhone 5 won't work with your beloved Beosound 8

I have to doubt the rumors of a completely redesigned dock connector on iPhone 5. This move would instantly alienate tens of thousands of iPhone and iPod compatible products all over the world. Not an intelligent marketing technique for a company that is a brilliant marketer.

BeoLab 5, BeoVision 7-55 MK2, BeoSound 5 Encore, BeoSound 9000, BeoLab Penta III, BeoLab 8000, BeoLab 6000, BeoLab 2, BeoLab 7-6, BeoSound 8, BeoTime (analog clock), Beo 4 remote.

Exactly. And with Apple replacing iPad 2 smart covers - free of charge - for iPad 3 users who complain, it would be a costly business swapping out a dock you recently bought for your iPhone, only to find it doesn't work with an iPhone 5.

Some people speculate and spread fear for no real good or valid reason whatsoever.

It would be disastrous for Apple to redesign the dock connector. I understand that from year (fill in the blanks), all phones are suppose to have the same charging connector making them all universal.

However I'm guessing Apple would just create a new port fitted on the phone.

I believe Apple made a commitment to manufacters of 'dock' products that they would not change the connector for a minimum of ten years.

The manufacturers of 'dock' products should just do like Apple -make new versions of their docking stations every year (it's only a matter of marketing)  Devil

All phones in the EU should have a mini USB port. Should. Apple have an adapter (£8) that does the job.

Good article recently in the Guardian, which was very thorough.

Beosound Stage, Beovision 8-40, Beolit 20, Beosound Explore.

The regulation on the micro USB port only concerns the charging. It says nothing about how & where the analog or digital audio signals or any other control is implemented. Mini USB has been mandatory in phones in China since 2007.

Apple will change the interface whenever they see fit and the fans will still run screaming to buy the new products.
