At present we have an Ouverture which, bought in 1995, uses the CD Ouverture stand. I am hoping to change the Ouverture for a new BeoSound 4, but my wife wants to retain the existing stand, which she finds very useful for storing CDs, as well as being aesthetically pleasing. The problem is that the BeoSound 4 does not fit easily on top of the CD stand. Furthermore the dealer is reluctant to agree to fit this as there is a possibility that the unit could overbalance unless securely fixed to the stand. Apparently our using a BeoSound 4 stand is not acceptable.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to how the Beosound 4 could be fixed safely onto the present stand? I do not want to miss the chance of getting a BeoSoud 4 but the need to retain the CD stand could be a deal-breaker.

STB Brackets (at the bottom of this page) make an adaptor to allow you to install a BeoSound4 on top of the BeoSound Ouverture pole stand. This is a nicer solution as you can run cables inside the hollow pole. Much better than the BeoSound4 pole which is solid and has no cable management.
I suspect it will be harder to provide a solution to fit the BeoSound4 on to the CD storage cabinet.

The store owner is right to be concerned.
As a Beosound 4 owner, you know how lightweight the unit is, and thus easy to tip over. Placing the Beosound 4 atop the CD stand which can move and rotate amplifies the potential for it to fall over even more.
My dear wife accomplished this with a light touch from a feather duster. That simple but well intended act cost us an additional 250 CHF to replace the cracked and broken glass cover, on a unit that was one week old.
One possible solution to consider is to have someone machine a bracket that would attach to the CD stand, and the BS 4, using the torq threaded screw holes on the bottom of the Beosound 4. Not an easy task, but it is possible. STB perhaps or better yet a local Machinist ?
I concur with the comment above regarding cabling: I would suggest a small cable sock of some length to conceal the inevitable " octopus."
I also tried the mounted stand look and decided against it. It just didn't work. Ours now rests on it's own on granite, between 2 BL 4000 speakers, with the cabling coming out the BS 4 back in a black flat cable sock, going directly into a Home Theatre wall panel unit. All cabling ( Mains/power, speaker, FM antennae, and two A.AUX ) are concealed in the sock.
