Good afternoon,
I don't know if there is a section to present myself so I do it here.
My name is Franck and I recently acquired a used but in good condition Beosound Ouverture with a pair of Beolab 2500. The system is working very well, tuner, CD and K7.
The sound is great but I wanted to add 2 more speakers so I bought a used pair of Beolab 6000 that I should receive very soon :-)
My question is: how can you plug both the 2500 and the 6000 to the Ouverture ?
If I understood well I can use only one power link to plug to one 6000 then link a 2nd cable from the 6000 to the other one and "play" with the left/right buttons. So it remains one powerlink free but it is not enough for the two 2500 and it seams not possible to plug like the 6000 on only one plink ?
Can I plug the 6000 left and right to the Ouverture then plug respectively the 2500 directly to 2 second socket on the 6000?
I google and do some search here before but did not found anything.
Thanks a lot for your help.
Best regards
Franck
Hi Frankck,
this can be done! You need a Powelink T-Plug that goes into the second Powerlink connector of the Ouverture and both Beolab 2500 will be connected to the Adapter. The two Beolab 6000 will be connected as you described first

Couldn't he also connect one BL6000 to each of the powerlink sockets, then daisy chain one BL2500 off the second PL socket on each BL6000 without having to add anything extra?
If I recall correctly, BL2500 are labeled with their L and R designations from the factory and do not contain the switch, so you would just need to make sure they are matched with the switch on the BL6000. (i.e. if one BL6000 is switched to "L", then the BL2500 labeled "L" should be attached in series with that BL6000).
Thank you so much all of you for your answers.
It seams the powerlink splitter cable is the easiest way.
I still have a newby question. With this kind of splitter pluged to each PL output is there any risk of "overload" of the output signal ?
Thanks again

The amplifiers are in the speakers, so no need to worry about overload (due to connecting the Speakers).
Best regardsRalf

My worries was about the preamplifier of the Ouverture and was afraid to ask "too much" if I split the socket. I suppose we can only plug only one splitter to each PL output ?
My intention is not to plug dozen of speakers ;-) but I would like to have one pair in one room and the other pair in other one, but quite close.
I have read some documentation and learned a little more one B&O technology like the built-in amplifier.
I just start with this brand but I love it so much already, I even rediscovered some of my old K7 of course the sound is not that good compared to CDs but I'm very surprised. Even the 2500 delivers incredible sound compared to the size.
I hope my 6000 will be in good conditions as I could read some problems about foam or speakers which need sometimes to be replaced... According the pictures it was fine, I will see when listening.
One more curiosity from my side now is about the Master Link socket, I do not see that much its usage...
A neater two-room solution is to make use of the masterlink socket. You then need just one masterlink cable to the second room, whereupon you connect a BeoLink Active kit, into which you connect a pair of speakers. This gives you full remote control in the second room.
BeoLink Active details are here: http://www.beoworld.org/prod_details.asp?pid=980 They go for £50-100 on eBay (with the IR sensor) or a little more from a second life seller.
So is connecting the 2500s to the 6000s possible or not? I don't understand the need to buy the splitter if the 6000s already have an extra socket the 2500s can connect to...?
Forgive me if I'm wrong but all he wants to do is connect a total of four speakers, 2 6000s and 2 2500s to the same Ouverture. Why can this not just be done in series?
Thanks a lot for the link now I know what we can do with this socket.
I can't image that one can listen to a CD in one room and other can listen to the radio in other one ? The selected source are independant with this kind of installation ?
If it is the case I will go with it. I maybe not explained very well my needs at the begining, or it has been improved thanks to the capability of Master link :-)
Now I just cross fingers that masterlink is working on my Ouverture...
Thanks again and have a nice day.
==> So is connecting the 2500s to the 6000s possible or not?
I'm also still curious about the possibility to plug in series 2500 to the 6000, but unless it is proven that it does not broke anything I don't know if I will try to do it...
So maybe I will plug only the 6000, keeping my 2500 to be pluged to a masterlink !
Thanks all

that sounds like a much better idea.

Hi,
I just received last Saturday my 6000.
I will not mix in the same room the 2500 and the 6000 to me the sound is far better only with the 6000 in the same room. So definitively I must go with a beoloink active and I will put the 2500 in the kitchen :-)
I need to stop myself now to avoid going in a loop of B&O in all the house !
