I heard that there will be a software update for the beovision 11 today. Has anyone received it yet? What are the changes?
Also the NL/ML converter is supposed to receive an update today. Any info?
Beovision 11-55, Beovision 10-46, Beovision 7-40, Beocenter 6-23, Beosound 9000, Beolab 18, Beolab 19, 2xBeolab 3, Beolab 8000, Beolab 6000, Beolab 2, Beocom 6000, Beosound 3, Playmaker
Mine shows no new software update available (at 12.00 BST).
If you have a BV11 just check via the menu.
Incidentally, the last time mine had an update I don't think it told you what it was.... it just did it. You could always ask a dealer if he knew what the update was for.... but I doubt whether they are going to list all the bugs etc that they've sorted out.
The last update resolved some of the radio picture muting issues, but several remain.

I havn't heard that bird sing - yet
But I suppose the update has to do with the fact that we now have 2 NL-tv's.
Many owners of a BV11, who would like to have a V1 for the kitchen or the bedroom, would like to be able to N-Link them and use the audiomaster-sources on both.
Maybe that is (part of) a new update for the converter: support for more (than one) NL-tv!
Greetings Millemissen
There is a tv - and there is a BV
Thanks for you answer.
I know where to check for the update. I was just hoping to get some information on the changes. My dealer only knows that there will be an update today, but couldn't tell me what it will include.
Here we go:
"We are pleased to announce a major software update of the BeoVision 11 and BeoPlay V1 features.
With this update we will introduce the possibility of connecting multiple Network Link TVs in a setup, and, thereby, achieving distribution of synchronised sound across the rooms.
In addition to having multiple Network Link TVs, we are also upgrading the BeoLink Converter NL/ML software, which in combination with a delay box will provide sound synchronisation to the Master Link system side as well.
BeoVision 11 and BeoPlay V1 will also be updated to support improved BeoRemote App features:
- Extended control of connected devices
- Two-way control and status
- Touch pad with free cursor movement
- Automatic keyboard synchronisation"
The sun arises - fare thee well ML - welcome NL
Nobody interested in what that means for future setups?
Grrr! Millemissen

Full monty, eh!
No patience?
Can't wait a second longer?
But who is paing the bill?
Of course I am interested. That's why I started this thread. ;)
Has anyone downloaded the software yet? I tried the past 2 days, but my BV11 says that there is no new software available...
imac:Has anyone downloaded the software yet?
YES !
BV11 and V1 updated to SW 1.0.3.30552
Let's hear more, Vienna!
Now we just have to wait for the BeoRemote-update to see how a real NL-network works.

Right!
But more important to me is the required ML-Delay-Box I'll get in a few days. This box willl delay the sound from ML audio components on the existing ML networkby the same amount as the NL/ML converter does during converting analogue ML audio to digital NL.Result will be "Echo Free" audio on NL-TVs as well as on ML components - "Party Mode".
The message shown after the update
Sound distribution and two-way tablet control Your BeoVision 11 can now be connected in a system setup with more TVs around the house. This means you get the possibility to distribute sound from your TV or audio system in the living room to other TVs around the house. You can playback sound on all TVs simultaneously if you are having a party, or you can listen in on a piece of music playing in another room. In addition this update also gives you new possibilities if you use the BeoRemote App on your iPad or iPad mini. You will get extended control of connected devices using this App, as you will be able to see the operation menus from e.g. your Blu-ray Player, Set-top box or Apple TV directly on the tablet screen. Some of the functions, such as changing channels or controlling volume will be two-way, which means you get a status indication directly on your tablet screen. Go to App store and update your BeoRemote App free of charge and explore the new possibilities. If you would like more details on the possibilities with this update gives you please contact your Bang & Olufsen retailer

Surely that would work the other way around, and make NL audio echo-free on the ML system? Isn't it the ML audio that needs delaying to compensate for the A to D conversion process?
Just a thought - I am probably wrong!
EDIT: I wrote that as you were editing your post - sounds like a clever system!

Hi Vienna,
that is for sure - I had hoped for a solution, but nalways thought, that it would never come.
So, we must be very pleased that it is there now.
Do yiu already know how it is connected to the converter?
And how much they charge for it - it should be a free upgrade IMO.
greetings Millemissen
Free would have been nice. I was told 250,- Euro.
An awful lot of V1/BV11 owners wil never want or need this functionality. I guess it's kept out of the TV as why should the price be bumped up for everyone when many people will never use it.

I didn't expect it to be in the TV, that's why I bought a NL/ML converter. I was just hoping that this hardware update to the converter would be free or cheaper as I already spent several hundred Euros on a "faulty" NL/ML converter. 250 Euros for a delay box that probably costs 10 Euros to produce... :(

Sorry, I was responding to Reauber but the quote didn't work

It might well cost 10 Euros to manufacture once all the development has been done, the software written and tested, the software for the TV updated tested and distributed, the PCBs deigned, tested and pressed etc.
There will be a huge number of hours and effort gone into it, and it's not like they sell hundreds of thousands of them to distribute that development cost accross.
We are talking about a smal, high end company, who are giving users the ability to integrate their old analogue equipment which might be thirty years old, with brand new digital equipment.
The costs are going to be considerable, and the relatively small number of purchasers who may want that functionality will unfortunately have to bear the cost in the price of the convertor and delay box.
Raeuber: B&O should have integrate this technology into BV 11! Räuber
Unfortunately impossible in a Network Link product. The ML-DELAY-BOX is, as it's name tells, a ML UNIT beeing connected via MasterLink.
It converts analogue ML signals into digital ones, delays theses signals and converts themback to analogue for further (analogue) ML-distribution.

Approx EUR 250,- + EUR 50,- for the separate power supply.

NO - as far as I know the delay for ML works all the time. *)
If you want to distribute the sound of TV (or any other video source connected to a NL TV)to the ML system the signal will be delayed twice.Delay # 1 happens in the NL/ML Converter during converting digital NL to analogue MLDelay # 2 happens in the ML-Delay box
*) EDIT: If the new SW for the NL-Converter and the ML-Delay-Box is able to delay only ML audio sources while passing through the sound of NL video sources without adding delay, an echo free distribution of TV sound to the ML area might be possible. Will check this when the delay box arrives in a few days...
Have both downloaded and working. Removed a host of problems when listening to my BS5 and BV11 and link rooms. Things just seem to work much better, before I had a lot of random problems.
Time lag when playing audio seems to have disappeared (or at least reduced dramatically to the point I cannot notice - rooms are far apart) - which is fantastic
A new SW update seems to be available for BV11 and V1:

No details on what's included. Anybody know?

I received another automatic software update yesterday. Does anyone know what was changed or fixed?
I just noticed that the HBBTV issue, that caused the TV to shut down, seems to be fixed.
That's it. It was a hotfix for the Hbb TV issue. The problem solved itself after a day, but the vulnerability in the software has been fixed.
