The Beocenter 7000 is an excellent music centre. Super record player, good cassette deck and radio and a wonderful amplifier. It is almost a mini 8000 series in terms of quality and was way ahead of any of its competitors. If I was buying one, I would really look for a 7700 as this has a number of refinements but if the one you have seen is all working, it sounds fine. The cassette usually needs new belts so check it is fully working and make sure it is in good cosmetic shape as parts are tricky to get hold of. The cartridge can be retipped by Axel to anything you want - I have had a MMC20S have a shibata stylus put on and it is superb.
Clearly the disadvantages are that two of the sources are obsolete largely and the third source is under threat!! It works particularly well with S45-2 speakers.

They don't have powerlink sockets so connecting will be interesting though not impossible. However this will be a waste of one of the best B&O amplifiers - it really is that good! Pick up a cheap pair of S45-2s and listen against the BL3s.....
Peter - connection to his BM7000 (and thence to BeoLabs) was the subject of an earlier thread here: http://archivedforum2.beoworld.org/forums/t/5763.aspx
But I agree it would be great connected to some good passives too!
Enjoy it and definitely get a set of S80 or S45. Curiously, my 9500 came with S80.2 speakers which are a bit of an unusual pairing. I gave those to my roommate and will be hooking the 9500 up to a pair of JBL XPL 140s which are AMAZING speakers from the same time period as the BC9500.
I have been fully bitten by the "beovirus" now, and its funny that the Beomaster 8000 which is from that period of B&O which I once considered quite "homely", is now on my list of potential future acquisitions.
Connected to S-75 may give you some extra bass :)
I agree with almost all of the above.Parts are no longer available from B&O, that's correct but I do have a small stock of goodused parts in the dungeons, almost any part can be found there, and I can also help with factorynew belts for the tapedeck and recordplayer if needed.
From parts requests and repairs coming in here, I can safely say that the whole range ofBeocenter 7000 / 7002 / 7700 do seem to still see good daily use, particularly in some territories. The somewhat rarer 7007 and baby brother 5000 a bit less so but that could be related to theirrarity rather than lack of use.
