Hi,

Since last evening, i have a strange humming and scratchy sound (just like a faulty passive speaker ) in the beolabs 3 when I use them via my BS5 encore connected on my BM7000.

I do not have this problem when using the BL3 from the beovision 7 directly

The BL 3 are connected to the beovision, connected to the BM7000 where the Envore is connected.

Any ideas ?

Thanks

Eric

Hi,

The BS5e does not have a fixed line-level output. Set your volumewheel so that it has the same outputlevel from your BM7000 and/or Beovision. Never touch the volumewheel ever again when set to the proper output.

I presume you have your BM7000 set to A.OPT 1 (with BL7000) or OPT 0. Your BV should set to V.OPT 2. The Encore is connected to the AUX or TAPE input.

When using the Encore, set this device to A.OPT 4 and use the LINK command followed by (N.)radio and Netmusic. When you want to adjust the volume, switch back to the source Tape or Aux.

I think the volumelevel of the Encore is set too high which gives the distortion in your speakers.

When using a Beo5/6 remote, you can program volumecontrol without switching and using the Link command. Therefore you can create macro's with the CT.

Hope this helps. Start setting the volume of the Enore at eg 75. Suc6!

Thanks,

Effectively, the volume control on the Encore makes the sound crispy, but event without turning on the Encore, just the BV7 and the BM7000, I have this humming sound.

The BV 7 is connected to the beomaster 7000 via a beolink converter in the AUX entry

The Encore is connected to the BM7000 via tape 1

When I want to use the Encore, I select AV-AMEM on the beo4 to turn on BV7 and BM7000 tape 1' and LINK-CD or LINK-RADIO, to turn on the Encore.

Would it be possible to connect the Encore directly to the BV7 to have music through BL3 and BL11 without turning on the BM and let the BV 7 connected to the BM7000. If I want to hear music in other rooms , i just turn on the beomaster.

What would you do with such a setting , to have music from the encore everywhere, using BL3 and BL11 ?
