Hi everyone, I just wondered if anyone can help me with this. I have recently purchased a Beocom 6000 I saw the phone working in the previous owners house and seemed fine. As it didnt come with a phone  cable I had to buy one, I plugged it into my Sky filter (which is shared with my Sky Broadband) and connected the power source but I cant get a dialling tone and all it says is the line is busy.

I have replaced the battery with new ones as they were not charging correctly but it hasnt made any difference. The phone seems to be functioning correctly in all other aspects. I have reassigned the base to the handset and tried a different phone line but no success, I have also tried another phone so I know it is not the line at fault. The phone seats correctly on the base station and charges.

Has anybody had any similar problems as I am completely baffled, Thanks in advance to anyone who may be able to help. Cheers Pete

Have you checked that the three wires are plugged into the correct sockets on the little 3-way adaptor?  ie Power, Line and Handset.

If that's all OK, I would suspect your new cable (or the RJ11 to UK adaptor, if you have one) is not the correct cabling.

Have you also tried without the broadband filter?

Did the phone come with its transformer and splitter that takes the dial tone and power to the base set ?

It would be easier if you could get the original cable.
