Hi everybody.
I have a beautiful beomaster 5500 including both MCP5500 and Beolink1000, both in perfect condition. However, the Beolink is not able to control, While the MCP is.
Have any of you got any idea as to why this is the case? It should be said that the beolink used to work with it it literaly stopped working overnight.
Is the BeoLink 1000 actually transmitting? Have you viewed the end through a mobile phone camera to check if the IR signal is being transmitted?
Try push the av button on the beolink 1000.
I tried what you suggested with my iphone cámara, and i am not getting any red light whatsoever. What would this suggest, apart from the beolink not transmitting?
Tried the av-button to no succes
I have experienced that if a Beolink 1000 does not respond it sometimes helps to push the AV button once or twice before it works again.
Also it could mean that the print board has died. I got my LX5500 with a dead Beolink 1000 and the printboard got changed.
Open up the battery compartment and check for corrosion on the contacts. For whatever reason, battery leakage is common in these remotes. And, needless to say, make sure the batteries are good.
This sounds like a battery problem. If your MCP5500 is working given everything that can go wrong on the BeoMaster AND the MCP I can assure you nothing is wrong with the BM.
I really appreciate everybody's help.
To summarize. I have put in brand new batteries. I even borrowed a friend's remote to check if it was just mine that was broken. No succes either. Battery compartment looks fine on both remotes. I would of course love if it's just a problem with the remote, but it seems increasingly unlikely.
Thanks in advance

Well, i see no ir light, neither with my iphone or my actual camera. What would this suggest? Could it be because it does not recognize a receiver? Or does it mean that both beolinks are broken?

I think so. Very hard luck indeed. Both ir leds should show a bright blue-purple light when you press any button. Same thing with MCP.
Well, better than something being wrong with the master,i suppose.
Thanks again
DMacri:I can only see the IR on the front facing camera, not the one on the back.
Yes on my iPhone 5 I can only see the IR on the front camera, I see nothing on the back one. So try the BeoLink 1000s on the front camera, and also try the MCP. If you can see the MCP but not the BLs, they're both bad (which I doubt). I have no problem controlling my BM7k with my BL1ks, Beo4, a Harmony remote or the BL7k.
Believe it or nor, I get an IR signal on the iphone with the MCP, but not on any of the beolinks. I guess it's time to have the beolinks tested on something that surely works. Really odd, considering that the I borrowed the one beolink exactly because it was working.
