Hi, Been struggling with this for some time now and have isolated the cause but need to find a solution.
Problem is getting clock to sync up across ML network. I'm having to use BS9000 s/w 3.4, as the source in a main room with BV10 (which has no clock). BS9000 is initially set to OPT1 so I can access the clock settings to set the time / date. At this point the BV10 is either not connected or set to OPT2. Once the BS9000 is set and the BV10 is connected, I then I revert the BS9000 back to OPT 0 for normal use, the clock continues as normal. By the way, once this option config is set, attempting to change the clock on the BS9000 gives a message "TV OPERATED" which is silly as there are no new B&O TVs with internal clock (I think). At this point, the ML distribution can be verified via a BL3500 in another room that repeats the clock (on the display) no problem.
Upstairs is reached via a pair of Beolink Wireless units. So in the master bedroom I have a fairly late model BV8-32 with DVB and ML fitted. This is normally set to OPT-6. However, when this TV is added to the ML set up, then the distributed clock (on BS9000) is reset to 0:00. If left this way, the clock runs for a period(1-2 hours) but still periodically resets (as I tried to connet the BV8 at midnight to get round the problem but in the morning it still only read 1:30am or something). I have tried connecting the BV8 while the BS9000 was in either OPT1 or 0 but the effect is the same. I have run a 10m direct ML cable to bypass the Wireless links, still the same so that brings it down to the BV8. Feels like the BV8 is attempting to deliver clock codes to the ML network even when set to 'SLAVE' OPT-6 but I don't know where the clock in the BV8 is being generated from , other than the DVB module. I'm thinking that as the DVB is an add on unit then is it not quite compatable with the ML config and generating clock when there's no need, thus corrupting the distributed clock data?
Want the bedroom TV to work as a wake up device to timer settings on the BS9000 but can't. BV8 does manually play AV sources from the BS9000 and BV10 downstairs but that's all.
Does anyone else know of problems using later generation TVs in distributed networks like this. Is it the BV8 I need to change.Or, is it a bug with BS9000 s/w 3.4? Everything else works fine until this device is connected. Sorry it's so complicated but I've tried near enough every combination of OPTIONS and sequence of connection that you're likely to think of and pretty sure the results are consistent that the BV8 is an issue.
Hello,
My configuration is similar, ist works without problems:
Video master: BV10 v.Opt2
Audio master: BS3000 a.Opt0
Link Beosystem 2: v.Opt6
When trying to set time on BS3000, the message USE TV appears.
I have to use BS2 to set the Time as BV10 has not clock.
Allthough it's not a direct answer to your question, it may help.
