Preferrably MK3 and in pristine condition.

Found one on ebay:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Bang-Olufsen-Beosound-9000-MK3-CD-Player-Tuner-B-O-/190790019597?pt=US_CD_Players_Recorders&hash=item2c6bf8aa0d

What's a fair price? I noticed, the seller has occasional discounts from time to time. Has anyone dealt with this seller? Any info is much appreciated!

Also, a more technical question - can I hang BS9000 horizontally on the wall but upside down (i.e., CDs pointing up)?

Thanks!

I think that's a good seller that does a lot of B&O and Bose on Ebay, but you can do way better than that on price. If you go back and look at completed items, most Buy it Nows for MK3 BS9000s were in the 2000-2300.00 range. I believe there's another listed around 2200.00.

Regardless, it's good to ask whether there have been any problems or if any parts have ever been replaced. And you might even luck out and find one still under warranty because it's still a somewhat recent product.

The manual does not officially support that positioning you mentioned, but I feel like I've seen it hung that way at least once or twice.

The difficulty with hanging it the way you mention is loading CDs. The glass door doesn't open to 90 degrees, so I imagine you wouldn't be able to reach over the door properly.

Also, the horizontal wall bracket would not suit it being hung upside down as the plate on the back of the 9000 hangs from a bracket on one edge only

The table stand can also be used as a wall mount bracket and will display it with the CD's on top.  Of course it will jut out somewhat on the bottom.  As Jonathan mentioned, the door does not open to 90 degrees so don't mount it too high.  And expect to pay much closer to $2,000 than $3,000 for a Mk 3.

Thanks for all the replies.

I assumed as much as far as the price is concerned.

@MediaBobNY - thanks for the pic, I'll have to see just how much it will jut from the wall. And sliding CDs in will still be somewhat awkward, so I'm leaning toward the conventional horizontal orientation now. Btw, I'm in NYC too - let me know if you have any ideas of where I can find a BS9000 locally.

@olvisab - thanks for the offer, but I'd like to find something in the US to minimize shipping and also have compatible plugs.
