I though you might be interested in knowing this: 

I have connected BS 8 RCA input to the line put of my Yamaha Silent Guitar. That worked ok - had to crank the volume quite high though.

I also connected iPad 2 to Apogee One and that to the RCA and it is great.  I can run either a mic or a guitar to BS 8 getting a good working sound.

Hi, 

Thanks for your post.  I've been wondering what else to do with my BS8.  I was thinking of plugging in a CD player and trying that out too.

That would be a great test. I think that direct output from a CD player may be too low but please let us know.

Oh, ok, I don't know much about direct output volumes, but i'll give it a burl.  The other thing I want to try is my USB DVD player that I use for the macbook air.  I want to try that too.  May not work, but worth a go!

If it is the original Apple DVD drive, it did not work form me - it requires too much power.
