I am having all 4 woofer surrounds redone i had one quick question, there is no way the driver can turn in its housing can it making sure the prongs the wires connect to stay in the right place. I'm 99% sure they cant and the guy that is doing them as done a pair before but i just want to make sure. Any help would be great thanks

Where / how are you having the work done? I have a similar problem with my mid/woofer drivers rubber being cracked or split. Not sure if this is common or how it happens but I want to get it fixed. Any ideas how to do this?

The cost of labour for replacing the surrounds on these speakers will be near enough the price of brand new replacements from b&o, the only way rubber surrounds are worth doing is if you are able to do them yourself as they are cheap to buy but fiddly to fit due to their small size.

I actually just got mine back from my local speaker shop all in for all 4 to be re-foamed cost $125usd. I was happy with this cause i was moving apartments at the same time was able to set them up the day after i moved in the my beosystem 4500 and they sound great about the 4th time i have used this shop and came out great nice to have them playing again.
Hello Ronnie, it sounds like you know what you are doing with regards to replacing the rubbers and you live close to me too so on same time zone! Are there any shops other than going back to B&O direct who can do this type of fix?
How can you help/advise? Does this happen a lot with them?

I found a pair of 6000's for $400. However, each speaker needed new surrounds. I called the local AUTHORIZED B&O repair shop and they quoted me $400 for EACH speaker (to replace the drivers). After hearing that, I said "to hell with that!" I felt replacing the surrounds would just be a ghetto way of making the repair. In any case, I did a bit of research...
After some search inquiries from the forums, I figured out the part number for the 6000's drivers (part # 8480248). I visited my local shop and verified that they are 'order-able' for $60 each. I also discovered I needed a multi-meter (eBay) and a 1kHz test tone (downloaded burnt on CD). I also needed a flat-head screwdriver capable of fitting down a hole about 1/8" wide.
Frankly, replacing the drivers is probably A LOT cheaper and in a sense, WAY EASIER than replacing the surrounds. And in the end, you end up with brand new drivers... which is how B&O would deal with this problem.
I think I'll make a youtube video outlining exactly what it takes to replace the drivers and how to calibrate them. In the meantime, I'd be glad to answer any questions.

B&O cost a bomb for their own servicing or repairs so do what you can yourself and it will cost a fraction on what b&o charge.

Was it a difficult job? New drivers sounds good if fitting and calibration is resonibly easy to do.
Can you send step by step instructions?
