Enjoy !
What a great post to wake up to !
I like it. I'm guessing it's a stand alone system and can be used with any TV. That is where they are heading ? Right ?
I actually like the look too, will check it out in store. I wish they would have done this thing years back, would have made so much sense.
Glad the early pics we saw were wrong/fake.
I got an invite to see them today, but it mentioned Les Miserables .... no thanks. Not again.
Looks awesome.
I am going to the presentation tonight. Hope it sounds as great as it looks, but I think they've got something good here.

And this monstrosity costs and sells at £1,000 more than the 14's

The futures bright
Beosound Stage, Beovision 8-40, Beolit 20, Beosound Explore.
It looks really good - i wasn't sure really what to expect. Are the speakers by speaker wire or Powerlink? Is there an option for wireless rears?
Thanks for the link about the Bose Lifestyle system - its very expensive in England as well as here in Australia. I wouldn't call it a monstrosity - many people love the ease of use and the one remote control this system offers and the fact that it just works.
Many people have bose systems for many years and are happy for it. Afterall if it wasn't such a profitable market segment, B&O wouldn't be following in a market dominated by bose.
Hi
Months ago, I read only criticism and negativity about b&o, if this could help this forum smile again.
When you see the Bose tv, you understand why the b&o are so expensive. There is a huge gap between a Bose 55" tv and a bv11 55"", even if the beovision is 3000 euros more expensive, this is absolutely justified.
No, b&o is not dead and their tvs are still competitiv too
PS : this video has been posted yesterday by Millemissen in the previous thread (a little beast from behind).
4 beolab 5, beolab 9, beolab 10, beolab 5000, beolab 8000 mk2, beolab 6002, beolab 3500, beovision 7 55 mk2, 2 beovision 11 46 mk4, beotime, beosound ouverture, beosound essence, beoplay A8, beomaster 900 RG de luxe and the collection continues...
lukeswiss: What a great post to wake up to !
if you had looked here:

you could have seen it yesterday.....and could have had sweet dreams about it 😉
Greetings MM
There is a tv - and there is a BV
Chris Townsend: And this monstrosity costs and sells at £1,000 more than the 14's
Hi Chris,
you can't compare those two.
The BL14 is a set of loudspeakers, the Bose is a cinema system as well.
If you want to compare prices you must at least add the price of a good sound processor/preamp to the BL14-set.
Greetings Millemissen
Michael: It looks really good - i wasn't sure really what to expect. Are the speakers by speaker wire or Powerlink? Is there an option for wireless rears?
Hi Michael,
have a look here:
http://archivedforum2.beoworld.org/forums/p/444/53795.aspx#53795
No wireless option!
But in my opinion that might be something to work on for the guys in Struer:
a sub/controlunit like the BL14 with built-in wireless technology for 4 (or 6) satellites - using WiSA technology (http://www.wisaassociation.org/).
Bang & Olufsen is a member of this association!
I thought the Beolab 14 Sub had the processing built in ie there is a version for non Beovision Tv's.
Oh well, still looks way better and won't be a BOOM BOOM bass fest like most Bose products(one of which i own) Still £1,000 buys a lot of processing
Dear Chris,
you must read what has been posted in the last couple of days about the set more carefull 😉
It was already discussed here:
http://archivedforum2.beoworld.org/forums/p/5917/53278.aspx#53278
...and you wrote the second post in that thread!!!
WIres are still and will stay the only solution in order to have full quality without annoying interferences.(neighbours....).
If you live in a house, you have probably no risk but imagine in a building with 100 flats.
What a great video! I love these insights into the design process - it's very inspiring. Makes me want to get into product design.
This is why the price is reasonable
How can you manufacture this kind of set in Europa nowadays and still be competitiv ? impossible.
I don't care if the assembly is made in china if the icepower and design comes from denmark.
Beolab 14 is now on the B&O site. Surprised that there is a link to more technical details, but when directed to the support page, Beolab 14 is not in the list of products.
Livingroom: BL3, BL11, BV11-46 Kitchen: Beosound 1 GVA, Beocom 2 Bathroom: M3 Homeoffice: M3, Beocom 2 Library: Beosound Emerge, Beocom 6000 Bedroom: M5, Essence remote Travel: Beoplay E8 2.0, Beoplay EQ, Beoplay Earset
Does anything know the $AUD for these, and if it's 'order in' or pickup straight away?
BeoBoy68:I hate wires ! :-( )
Hi BeoBoy68,
Please don't hate wires - once they have been professionally hidden into your home, you should never need to know that they are there.......Wired connections almost always give you a better, more reliable connection than wireless, plus they are normally cheaper in the long run (well as a cable engineer, you would expect me to say that!)
Certainly, I think that Beolab 14 is better for being a wired speaker system, as it has superb sound and very good connectivity - I've already supplied cables to a number of UK stores so that they can set up Beolab 14s in many different situations and they are very adaptable. They work well with both B&O and non-B&O AV systems and the cabling shouldn't be too intrusive once this has been properly installed.
Kind regards, Steve.
Steve.
