Some paint on my BS 1's grill is gone (I put the unit on the floor for some months and the bottom had contact with dust; to my surprise, some paint there is gone; there must be chemical reaction between the grill and the dust).
I am thinking of taking it to a car painting shop for a spray job. However, there is a permanent plastic frame attached on the back of the grill and there are also two metal hooks that can't be removed. Does one spray without taking anything off the back of the grill? Also, does the painting shop coat the grill first before spraying and then bake the grill after painting (that is what is done for car painting)?
Please share your experience on painting BS 1's grill, if any.
Here's a recent thread that discussed painting. The black piece is removeable but I don't remember how.
There is black sheer held by a black frame at the back side of the grill. Do you have to remove what is on the back before painting?
