Hi,

My Avant's VCR is dead due to a mouse getting inside and peeing on one of the PCB's.

Does anyone know if the V8000 VCR has identical components, therefore I could buy one (seen advertised) and use these to get my VCR working again.

Parts for the Avant VCR are no longer available according to the local B&O store.

Cheers.

Pretty sure the chassis in the AVANT and V8000 are same.  Maybe do a search on Google 'images' and look for photos of or manuals of the two products to compare. In the AVANT the VCR unit pulls out from the rear as a complete item, hence why it's connected to the TV via a dedicated SCART lead and not internal wiring. There may be some internal power cables that need to be disconnected though.  Not 100% sure about the direct swapping of components from one to the other but if your AVANT VCR is faulty then no harm in removing it to get a better look at the PCBs and transport assembly, alongside the V8000 with its top off???
