I am a speculator in Beolab 8000-system which includes the following components: Beogram 8000Beomaster 8000Beocord 8004 Beovox Penta

The first thing is the cosmetics - most of the electronics can be repaired but missing trim or damage will be a lot trickier.
Assuming therefore that the pieces look fine, see what works. The Beocord will almost always need new belts - obtainable. The Beogram is complex. If it works, great though it may well not work for long!! The 8000 in its earlier guises uses a tacho disc that deteriorates and will need to be replaced - obtainable. The capacitors can deteriorate giving a multitude of problems - fixable. The double sided tape holding the platter surround and lid on rot - easy to fix.
The big deal is the Beomaster - what does it do?
Peter
I can't speak to the music players, but the BM8000 display should be checked for any missing segments, as this is a common problem. Next, test the audio output of course and ensure that both channels have equal volume with no distortion or crackling. Make sure the spring loaded door works well, I see these broken off a lot for some reason. Also ensure that the volume control rolls smoothly throughout the volume range with no stopping or jumping. Same for the tuning dial and the tuner. Make sure you can set a couple of station presets and test all the buttons, sometimes you will get strange behavior from the button pad if the ribbon cable is frayed or damaged internally.

Thank you, Peter and Playdrv4me for the information. I dont know much about this set yet but the owner says that a few defects occured when he was testing it after 10 years or so in the closet. I will visit him on saturday and knows more for sure then.
The seller just called me and told that the system is sold.
Curse him, He promises me that I could visit him on Saturday. Stupid f*ck
Problems with the set:
Bad reception over radio
Some issue with the volume adjustment.
Beocord needed new belts
