Hi, i am a new member from Australia. I'd acquired a Beogram 1800 Type 5213 from 1970 recently. The foam underneath the strobe disc and platter mat is disintegrating. i don't know how to unlock the 45 rpm centre ring to asses the foam. Can any one help?
If I remember correctly, you need to knock out a locking pin from the platter spindle. It goes through a gear on the undersideof the deck. But are you sure, you really have to take off the platter ?

Thank you Martin, do you think the 45rpm adopter that hold the strobe disc with the platter mat could be remove from the spindle? If yes, what steps do i have to take to disengage the 45rpm adopter from the spindle?
Peter
If my fading memory still serves, the center tap is held by a small circular spring.Simply pull up the center tap and make sure to catch the spring.
What do you mean centre tap? Do you mean the 45rpm adopter? Many thanks
Yes, the three-wing thingamabob at the center. But t don't recall it holding anything, really.
