Well, I finally got fed up with no music, and since the living room is still under construction/repair but the dining/sunroom area is about done, I went to setup my system. Naturally the second hand floor stand I bought, while being in great condition, doesn't seem to have the screws/bushings that attach to the BS9000 to allow it to hang from the stand. I've ordered them from the nearest dealer, naturally they have to come from Denmark, so it'll be a couple of more weeks. Grumble.
But, I'm sitting here looking at the BS9000 laying on my dining table (my new Saarinen tulip table that is still waiting for the chairs to be delivered) and something seems off.
The glass front of the BS9000 is not parallel with the aluminum plate that holds the CDs. It slopes downward from the high point of the hinge to the low point at the edge of the glass. I don't remember it being like this before I packed it in its original packing but am not sure.
It's not greatly drooped, it doesn't touch, but it's noticeable. Any ideas as to whether this is normal or repairable? I haven't powered the unit up yet, but it seems like the glass is not loose or such. Any comments or suggestions welcome, I'm a tad paranoid about keeping this thing working and intact as it's not easily replaceable.
Thanks!
Jeff
I'm afraid I'm recovering from the BeoVirus.
Is it a mk3 ?
It's a MK I I think, I got it when they first came out back in 1997. I have had the glass replaced years ago when it fell off and had the laser replaced about 7 years ago. It doesn't look like the glass is coming loose, just as if the whole assembly is misaligned.
You have to remove both aluminium top plates.
Underneath you'll find two small holes where you find the torx screws to adjust.
Lift the left alu panel on the left side and slide it to the left. The right alu has only to be opened the same way when you want to control it.
These holes are located just above the hinges.
You will need an allen key rather than torx.
Can't remember what size. Small though!!
Regards Graham
Thanks! I'll check it out and adjust it. Nice to know for future reference too. Fortunately I have torx and allen keys!
Yep, indeed it is an allen key, My mistake. All other screws will be torx. I tried a T9. It fits, but not properly.
BTW, there is software available to make an mk1 or mk2 NMusic or NRadio compatible.
I haven't located my wrenches yet, but have looked at the holes, very tiny allen wrench needed. I probably should investigate updating the sw if possible, even though I don't use N Music it should be as up to date as possible. Just ordered the things screws and such I need to attach it to the second hand stand I picked up, naturally they have to come from Denmark, will take about 2 weeks. Grumble.

They will actually come from the Czech Republic which is where the spares stock is held.
In the UK they would arrive overnight via UPS. Just why they take 2 weeks to arrive in the US puzzles me.
Interesting, I have no idea why they'd take 2 wks, or even if they will, that's just what the conveniently located (if you call an hour and a half by super highway convenient) dealer said. Czech Republic eh? I have very fond memories of a visit there to Prague about 13 years ago.
I just sold one of those stands and made sure to put in the listing that those little pegs were included. It's actually two pieces, a screw that goes through the middle of the peg and into the player itself, and the standoff/peg itself which keys in to the stand. Also made sure when I bought my last one that it had whatever parts were necessary for mounting as at the time I didn't even know how it went together as that was my first one.
