Video to link rooms

Hi,

Is there a better way of delivering video from a Beosystem 3 to a link room Beovision 10-46 rather than through RF? It certainly is a waste of the TV's capabilities, while a higher quality out of the Beosystem 3 must be possible? Wireless would be preferred as I'm not keen in digging into the walls all over the house!

Thanks, but I don't see it. The HDMI matrix seems to be just a way of adding additional HDMI sources to a Beosystem 3. What I was looking for is getting a high quality video output from the Beosystem 3 to the beovision 10-46 as a link room TV. 

You must understand my answer as a NO to that question.

The former 'video-linking' was a combination of an analog output in stereo plus controlsignals over ML and the videosignal of the sources as an analog signal over the coax-antenna cable.

This technology does not transport any high quality output.

That is why Bang & Olufsen now with the new tv's offers a digital based 'link' (NL) - although there are yet no signs of a transmission of high quality signals from one tv to another, mainly due to copy-right issues. This is a thing that a lots of  B&O users hope for....and expect to come in the near future.

The 'HDMI Matrix' is the only way to solve your problem with a BSys3 and  BV10 based setup.!

N.B. The Matrix solution makes it possible to use and control one (or multiple) device(s) on multiple receivers/tv's!

P.S. You are not the only one with "that problem'!!

Same setup, same problem

I was lucky  to have both TVs in 2 adjacent rooms, situated above the technical cabinet which holds the sources and wiring.

So I built this more affordable work-around, since HDMI matrix is an expensive equipment and a licence has to be purchased for each TV.

Unfortunately it is not adapted to your needs, but it may help others.

I bought a HDMI splitter (1 input, 4 outputs) for each source (PS3, TVIX and Orange set top box) + a RE-BLwith a quad output which controls PS3 and works as an IR transmitter.

These devices are not expensive

Each source is connected to both TVs through HDMI and declared in their PUC list.

To avoid conflicts, the sources are set on "manual-on/off" in the BV10, so that the BV9 gets the priority.

PUC IR outputs are placed on the RE-BL, who's quad output feed the sources using the "transmitter" function.

The BV10 controls sources with all functions present in the PUC file, it works both with Beo4 and Beo 6.

The BV9 does the sam, but the RE-BL is placed in sight, so that all commands (PUC + TVIX IR managed by Beo6) can be transmitted..

A lot of wires, but it works like a charm.

Hi,

I am also using HDMI splitters for my tvix and for a set top box, and it works fine. There is respectively 10 and 15 meters from the tvix to the tv's. everything is controlled with PUC and with manual turning on and off to avoid conflicts.

I am using the cheap versions og Konig 1-2 HDMI splitter which cost about 50 EUR.
